WISDOM IN CHAINS was founded in 1992 by the DECEIT-Veterans
HolBeu and Herbie with the show-biz-newbies Frank In Chains,
Assel-Andi and Virus. The first show facing a crowd of 500 encouraged
the outfit to go ahead with its non-existing concept (110% hardcore). The 'Enter
Tainment' EP
was released as 7" and CD in 1993 on HolBeu's own label Inner Grind. WISDOM IN CHAINS played
dozens of shows, were featured on two compilations (Band Together, Losing Still
2) and filled the time between advertisements
on commercial radio and the pages of fanzines with interviews (ZAP-HC-Mag: "Why
do you still play hardcore in 1994?" - Assel-Andi: "Why do
you still take a piss in 1994?").
In 1995 Assel-Andi suddenly vanished. It is rumored that the only bandmember with
real jail tattoos joined the kermis as a swing boat brakesman. Likewise did
Frank In Chains: He followed his love to Berlin and studied. WISDOM IN CHAINS
continued to exist with different singers til 1999 and released three more
demos. Though domiciled all over Germany meanwhile, the hardcore of the band never lost
sight of each other and recalls its motto: 'Hardcore 'til death'. Well, in
2007 that
seems realistic, only few years to go. The reunion show in August 2007 was a furious blast!
