Born out of necessity in a cultureless orange county in 1988 Wiskey Biscuit was formed by Jeff and Jason in an assortment of garages and back-alley gigs. soon to follow was joe, brandon and grant and in 1992 the band was offered a chance to play in Europe. jumping at the opportunity W.B. found itself chest deep in art and admiration in the wonderland of Prague Czech. playing to thousands of drunken germans and living everywhere from students dorms to an army base, wiskey biscuit enjoyed and relished in the opportunity to play 3 hour sets. although the initial reason for their travels had been extinguished, the band continued to gig in this amazing city for three months before deciding to return home. in 1993 the band moved to los angeles and signed up with geffen records. recording at willie nelsons studio in pedernales texas with paul leary of the butthole surfers producing the band was only to find out later that the deal was off when their A&R rep (john kalodner) left geffen and went to columbia to pursue Aerosmiths explosive and burgeoning career. after leaving geffen wiskey biscuit continued to pursue its interest by releasing two records on its own label Shipwrecords. and so was Santa ana river delta blues, and Zig Zag. with several songs featured in television and films, wiskey biscuit managed to be invited by our dear friend Elliot Smith (may he rest in peace) to tour the east coast with him in 2000. playing some 20 shows in 30 days all across the south and new england wiskey biscuit was able to establish a broader fan base. then in 2001 wiskey biscuit flew off to jolly old england with the express intent of landing some kind of deal in europe. after a month of playing london and glasgow, wiskey biscuit landed a deal with loose records and immediately released their self titled album Wiskey Biscuit using songs that had been previously recorded on SARDB and Zig Zag. Today the band has added Jimmy James on guitar and gig sometimes locally, rehearsing out of their echo park studio. hopefully releasing a new record in 2006. stay tuned . . .
