Quite possibly the best band in Oxford

Exuberant and spectacular.. Witches lift you out of your head

An epic, breathtaking taster of what’s to come

Witches are a six-piece rock band from Oxford. Their songs are inventive and wide-ranging, with intense guitars, mariachi trumpet, analogue keyboards and melodic vocal lines coming together to create a truly unique sound.

Witches debut album Heart of Stone continues to be warmly received by journalists and radio stations the world over. They are currently writing their second album (produced by Jamie Masters and documented by Fly journalist Joby Mullens) and are circulating five brand new tracks, some of which may feature on the new album.

As well as winning Jack.fm's Next Big Thing competition in April 2009, Witches have been played on Tom Robinson's 6Music Introducing show, with regular live sessions and interviews recorded for BBC Oxford Introducing, Jack.fm, 107.9 and many other stations across the UK and beyond.

Witches played the main stage at Wychwood Festival 2009, played at Cornbury Festival 2009, headlined Charlbury Riverside Festival 2008, played at Truck Festival 2007 and have supported acts like Bleech, Little Fish, Kid606 and The Sugababes.

Witches continue to be strong supporters of the work of Shelter, playing at Audioscope 2007 and 2008, releasing a video EP Live and Undead and putting on fundraiser gigs. Witches say: go support Shelter. Help them to continue to tackle bad housing and homelessness.
