Witches write sinister, twisted pop songs. They combine trumpet, glockenspiel, accordian, harpsichord, analogue synth and anything else they can lay their hands on to create a rich and diverse sound.
Last year Witches released their debut album Heart of Stone which gained some rave reviews. The band later released a live video Live and Undead which they used to raise funds for homeless charity Shelter.
In August Witches will be heading out to Poland to play their first session for Radio Gdansk. The band will then be returning to the studio to begin work on their second album, the follow up to Heart of Stone, which they aim to release next year.
Following on from their debut London shows at the Brixton Windmill, Witches have recently received their first national radio play on Tom Robinson Introducing on BBC 6, as well as becoming regular features on The Fly website.
Most importantly, 2008 has involved a change of line-up, with Tim and Dan leaving the band in February. Both have been a major part of Witches over the years, particularly with regards to our Heart of Stone album, songwriting and live performances.
More recently, Martin Newton and Jo Edge have been recruited on guitars and bass respectively, bringing with them a wealth of new ideas and influences - and their own maracas.

Pity I missed your set at Audioscope, but I suppose someone has to stop public school boys killing each other on the games field. I took advantage to buy your album though. It's really good - congratulations and every success!
