Six years ago a group of us representing more than a dozen inclusive faith communities surrounding Mt. Diablo launched our first interfaith worship celebration sponsored and hosted by congregations who have declared themselves to be inclusive of all God’s children - Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) and Straight. Our purpose was to let the community know that we openly welcome all our neighbors into full participation in our congregational life. That first service drew more than 200 worshippers from throughout the East Bay to celebrate the spirit of inclusive love
Since that first service, we have hosted four more spirit-filled celebrations. Last year, our sponsors included 32 organizations and communities of faith representing 11 denominations and included PFLAG, the Pacific School of Religion and the GLSEN - Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network.
Join us to spread the news that there are safe places for all God’s children to worship together in the communities surrounding Mt. Diablo, the East Bay and the entire Bay Area.

About me: Once again, the Bay Area’s faith communities welcomes its Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Brothers and Sisters to join them for the 6th Annual WOW Interfaith Worship Celebration this year returning to Danville Congregational Church.
Event: Witness Our Welcome (WOW) – 6th Annual Interfaith Worship Celebration. It’s an open “welcome home” to the GLBT community as well as straight people of all faiths.
When: 7 p.m. on Saturday June 02, 2007
Where: Danville Congregational Church
989 San Ramon Valley Blvd.
Danville, CA 94526
(925) 837-6944
Who: More than two dozen faith communities and local organizations are participating this year – continuing the momentum from WOW’s inaugural event in 2002, which included a dozen participating groups and drew more than 200 worshipers from the East Bay.
Why: WOW is a celebration of God’s inclusive love, welcoming the GLBT community - who often are ostracized in religious communities – into full participation in congregation life with along side their straight brothers and sisters.
This year we are promoting WOW not just as a Tri-Valley or East Bay event, but as a celebration for the entire Bay Area. As we grow together in all of our different faiths we want our GLBT brothers and sisters to know they are welcome to participate fully on that journey with us.
