Witty Alley was created in 2000, rapidly leading to worth-seeing first concert playing with Merzhin during Pict Keltia Festival in 2001, with original track list influenced by
70’s-rock music – Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple… -.
Motivated by this experience, Witty Alley was getting more and more developed by including new influences – Genesis, King Crimson, Dream Theater – in its music. In this context the band created its first own compositions, but at the end of 2003, Witty Alley seemed to be disappearing due to numerous musician changes.
In fact, the band turned this break into advantage giving more maturity to its compositions. In Autumn 2006, new line-up was announcing Witty Alley rebirth, with more complicity and motivation… that enabled the band to win local rock contest "tremplin Rocktambules" in April 2008, including new songs that tend to be more groovy than previously – Extreme, Red Hot Chili Peppers – but also more aggressive – Metallica, Pantera -, or more ambient – Pink Floyd, Porcupine tree -.
As one can understand, between Progressive, Fusion, Pop and Metal,
Witty Alley music is at first ROCK, the band sharing its melodies and powerful rythms with the audience, with emotion and energy to be felt song after song…

Créé à l’hiver 2000, Witty Alley démarre tambours battant en effectuant son premier concert, en première partie de Merzhin, au festival Pict Keltia en avril 2001, avec un répertoire emprunt de rock 70’s – Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple… -.
Enjoué par cette expérience, le groupe se développe, s’enrichit de nouvelles influences – Genesis, King Crimson, Dream Theater - et donne naissance à ses 1ères compositions. Mais à l’automne 2003, après une succession de changements de musiciens, le groupe semble alors s’éteindre.
Une pause bénéfique, en réalité, qui permet au projet de mûrir, et à l’automne 2006, Witty Alley « renaît de ses cendres » avec un tout nouveau line up plus soudé et motivé que jamais… qui remporte le tremplin Rocktambules en avril 2008, avec de nouveaux morceaux à tendances plus groove – Extreme, Red Hot Chili Peppers –, plus incisives – Metallica, Pantera -, ou plus ambiantes - Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree -.
Vous l’aurez compris, entre progressif, fusion, pop et métal, la musique de Witty Alley est ROCK et se veut mélodique, rythmée et orientée vers l’émotion et l’énergie à partager au fil des morceaux...
