| Music | Oh my gosh I don't know where to begin, Eric Miller, Snowman Plan, Godspeed you Black Emperor! (or almost anything on the Constellation Records label for that matter.) Radiohead, Belle & Sebastian, Clinic, Michael Nyman, Tom Waits, John Fahey, John Cale, John Vanderslice, Lupe Fiasco, whatever I've heard Danger Mouse produce I tend to enjoy...go to Alex's page and look at his music list, he's got the taste I wish I could cultivate. | | Movies | I've been getting into Andre Tarkovsky, Werner Herzog, Lars Von Trier, and Atom Egoyan recently. David Lynch, David Cronnenberg, Guy Madden, Jan Svankmeyer, the Brothers Quay, & Federico Fellini continue to blow my mind. Terrence Malick is a poet of the film medium. I also have a soft spot for almost anything Jim Henson, Rod Serling, or Vincent Price were ever involved in. "the American Astronaut" is probably my single favorite movie. | | Television | You know those television shows that are so good that you miss something the first time you watch them and because of that, you don't mind seeing them again as reruns or on DVD. Yeah, shows like that...few and far between it seems like to me... | | Books | J.G. Ballard, William S. Burroughs, Vladimir Nabokov, Will Self, Martin Amis, Thomas Pynchon, Faber & Faber's "Cinema Books", most historical fiction or writing about history that's based on fact, but feels slightly fictitious & "Where the Wild Things Are", I try to read that book weekly. | | Heroes | Real people like police officers, firefighters, teachers, members of the clergy, humans that are able to breath under water, certain Justice League members, people with tails or webbed appendages, and those that strive everyday for the advancement of technology, medicine, freedom, and the collective sub-consciousness. |
