Writer, Producer Jamie Hawkins is the real deal. Though born
the son of gospel legends, Walter and Tramaine Hawkins, Jamie
has carved out a style all his own. Known around the world for
his beautiful melodies and full-bodied production, Jamie is the
man musicians listen to when they need inspiration.
In 1999, Jamie signed with Elektra Records and recorded a self-
titled album. Although the album was never released, its
promotional sampler became and international cult classic. With
only 250,000 copies in circulation, it has commanded prices as
high as $400 in online auctions 5 years after its release.
A longtime band director, Jamie has earned the respect of his
peers, both young and old. He has served as musical director
for many multi-platinum artists and groups including: Jodeci,
Mary J. Blige, Boys II Men, and Lauryn Hill. He has also worked
with Destinys Child, Carlos Santana, Amerie and Dwanye
Wiggins; and as a recording artist himself, toured with Jill Scott
and served as opening act for Gladys Knight. And in 2002, as a
songwriter and producer, Jamie co-wrote and produced the
smash hit You Know That I Love You, for Donnell Jones.
These days, Jamie is currently working as Musical Director for
wife Sunny Hawkins. He has a new production company Odd
Couple Productions with wife Sunny. Their efforts can be
heard on Sunny s debut CD More of You which is an
Inspirational/Contemporary Gospel CD that is currently
receiving rave reviews from both gospel and secular music fans
and media alike.
