AND OF COURSE: Our amazing DJ staff for being who they are and doing the best jobs. Without them, WJMF would not be where it is currently. Their tireless efforts both on and off air have helped us tremedously. HERE IS TO AN EVEN BETTER 2006/2007 YEAR WITH MORE GROWTH AND SUCCESS!!!
NEW SEMESTER!!! NEW DJ'S!!! ENTIRELY NEW STATION!!!
Ok, so it started with our new location, when we were moved to the beautiful Koffler Center/Verizon Communications Building in the Spring of 2005. Our gorgeous new surroundings including new offices, new on-air room, new production room, new lounge/waiting room/lobby!! WE LOVE IT!!!
But WJMF has been extra good, and Santa Machtley and the rest of the Bryant University saw this two... so they pimped out our ride. Ok, not our ride, but they hooked up hard-core over the winter of 2005-2006 with brand new, state of the art, "my station is better than yours" equipment!!!
So here's whats up:
1) We are at full capacity, which for the past 4(?) years, we were not. Now our signal can be heard throughout RI and into Southern MA and...
2) We are now officially broadcasting in STEREO instead of MONO, so we hit both your ears with a sonic assault!
3) Brand new everything, and we mean everything! New boards, monitors, microphones! We are STATE OF THE ART!!! you can check out www.wjmf887.com for pics of the new stuff.
4) Our webcast has also been improved so that it is much crisper and sounds better! So where ever you are, we are right with you via the web! To listen live, check out the link on www.wjmf887.com
5) We installed outdoor speakers, so now those fortunate enough to be on the Bryant University campus, you can hear us from all around.
But don't worry, we're still the same student run, student organinzed WJMF 88.7FM that you know and love. All our DJs are, and will always be, students and faculty of Bryant University (and the occasional alumni). We are still an open format station that allows DJs to select their own format, which is only limited to their imagination!
And we're still growing. At last year's Spring Weekend 2005, we brought in acts the likes of Providence favorites Slik Willy, MA based State Radio, and RI's own ZOX!!! What a turn out! And this year's we expect to be even bigger and better, so keep an eye out for updates from us.
Also, our activity in the community is growing by leaps and bounds. Last year our annual 36-hour marathon, Bryant Held Hostage, helped raise over $1700 for Amos House in Providence. This year, we're working for a higher goal for the same great cause!
Don't forget to check out our awesome website, www.wjmf887.com for up to date information, on-air schedule, and the link to listen live via the web!!!
