About me:
WKDU Electronic Music Marathon
The electronic music marathon has been a fund raising activity at WKDU 91.7fm Philadelphia for the past 10 years. We have raised money in the past for numerous charities both in and around the Phildelphia area. Most recently we raised over $4,000 last year for Musicopia/Strings for Schools. To date, we have raised over $20,000 for both local and national charities.. all with one goal.. to make music the key to a better world!
Some of our past charities have included Philabundance, PhiladelphiaFIGHT, NOVA, Philly PAWS, Village of Arts and Humanities, and the Red Cross.
All EMM performers are required to raise at least $50 in sponsorship money, which will be donated to the designated charity. If you would like to sponsor a DJ, you can make a donation via paypal account wkduemm@gmail.com please specify which DJ(s) you would like to support so we know to whom we should credit those funds.
Our charity this year, is Philadelphia FIGHT, just as it was the first year of the EMM. Philadelphia FIGHT (FIGHT) is a comprehensive AIDS service organization providing primary care, consumer education, advocacy and research on potential treatments and vaccines. FIGHT was formed as a partnership of individuals living with HIV/AIDS and clinicians, who joined together to improve the lives of people living with the disease.

We are seeking new talent as well as EMM alumni to fill the near 80 slots open during next year's marathon set to take place in October 16th-19th of 2008. If you are interested please send us a PM with your home address and email so we can mail you a personal invite this coming August.
