a little along the lines of Alex Lloyd (I wish !) .....some people say Jack Johnson or Elton John. All are very flattering.
Hello all. A bit about me. This is my musical past in a very rough nutshell. Grew up in a very non-musical family but my ancesters were Irish so something has come through somehow. My teenage years involved the 198O's and like a lot of Aussie kids then - Countdown (music show), on Sunday night, ruled. Saw acts like Joan Armatrading, XTC, Eurythmics, Kate Bush, Bowie etc and my musical taste was very much set in stone. Gave up musical stuff in high school because it wasn't cool back then and was just a music fan. Discovered Joni Mitchell on an album called "Chalk Mark in a Rainstorm" in the late 80's and became obsessed with her work. I bought a guitar again and dabbled with lessons and covers stuff to not much avail. Then, in 2003, I had a the worst & best year of my life - my world changed completely. I picked up my axe, wrote a few words down, found some rudimentary chords and bingo - a song, "The Man Who Smiled", came out in about 30 minutes !!!!! Later came some very nervous gigs, musical highlights & lowlights, some recording and collaborations and a whole new happier me. Just recently I've needed to take a step back, re-charge the batteries and get inspired again. Stay toooned !
