Opinons from people around West Memphis at the time of the murders
"I believe that the people responsible for the deaths will never be caught. Whether Byers had anything to do with it, I am not sure, but the WM3 did not murder anyone. However, I also believe they will never get out of prison due to the corruption that is soooooo rampant in Arkansas. C"
"I feel the guys were framed just because they were at that time considered "strange" because they wore black and perhaps stood out. This little town picks out people who arent preppy and redneck! At the time, Voting for the city officals were going on and i do believe the judge or officier was running so I feel they had to come up with a fast conviction so that the offical would get voted in. ( TO HELP HIM LOOK GOOD). and also i do believe that either johm byers did it or paid some one off for doing it....It was reported that ...the night before the kids bodies were found that a black man with blood all over him was seen at the restuant Bojangles.(no longer in bussiness) but that resturant is located in the same vacinity of the robin hood trails. C"
"As for whether I believe they're guilty, or innocent?
I think when something like that happens in a small town like West Memphis, the police are gonna place blame on the first people they can. M"
"I now live in west memphis but aucutally lived in emphis at the time,And was somewhat younger but still rember the day that the story was announced on the news...Of course every one was shocked and filled with horror, anger and fear...Everyone kept there kids closer. And Held There Breath waititng for the killers to be brought to justice..the media and the local town folk and alot of memphis were psuhing for the killers TO be brought to justice...Not having a kiler or killers would not be accepted...Some one anyone was gonna answer for the crime...I myself have freinds that live and did live in the trailor park that one of the boys lived in and the others visited...lake shore...Needless to say its a very low income..hoodish type of place..all colors and races mixed together just trying to surive...One freind of mine recalls that the echols boy didnt live to far from her and seems to be a nice kid even though he was~diffrent~ meaning his dress and etc ...But as a whole thought that there were just normal kids living in poverty...everyone was shocked i think to a point ( alot in disbeliefe that the so called killers were brought to justice...so fast...at first alot of deatils about the boys that were so called killers didnt come about..Most of the talk was about the severity of there killings and things that had been done to the 3 killed...the media and the town seems to be trying to convince the world that what was done was so bad that the public would focus so strongly on the murder its self and the details that anyone convicted would be doomed from the beginning...they didnt need facts or evidence..its the south ..its a small town filled with freinds and neighbors...not hard to convince with so many pushing for a conviction...those boys never had a chance they were judged and convicted before the ink was even wet on the news papers...all people wanted was to feel safe again....feel that there children were safe and that the law was doing its job... i work in a local truck stop and have freinds in west memphis that are at this moment dealing with west memphis polcie and the courts on diffrent and various issiues...and the answer seems to always be the same...the law enforcement there is corrupt and arkanas will do anything they have to ...to get hwat they want..i hate that the 3 boys got killed and im sorry for those left behind...but u would think that society and there family would want the ones that really took there loved ones...not just an escape goat... i see bumper sticker on cars in memphis that say ~Free The West Memphis 3~ but even more say kill them all...its not ofetn that u even hear it mentioned anymore...unless its the media or just folks sitting around chatting.... everyone was willing to accept what the police gave them and be happy with it...end of story...and becasue the boys wore black, and had diffrent ways of dress and actions...they fell right into place...and it was accepted no questions asked...you would just have to have been here to understand...its like the truth doesnt matter...just aslong as no ones stirring up trouble...what happens in west memphis stays in west memphs... its a small town with little crime...and when there is crime its usually lower level people and everyone just some what says..and thinks....well were better off wihtout that kind in our town anyways...and just leaves it at that....i say bullshit...i wanna know the truth...i wanna know who i really need to watch my back around ya know what i mean...but sometimes....some things are better just left alone... as they say....someday karma will get them all..and all the ones involved in taking those kids lives that were un just;y accused of murder will have to answer for there crime...of judgimg and assuming....there just as guilty as the aucutall killers....God have mercy on them...as they didnt have on the west memphis 3....P.P"

Hakkımda: How I became interested in the WM3 case:
In Early May of 2006, i was sitting at home watching tv and flicked the channel to the Crime Investigation Channel on Foxtel. I LOVE this channel.. so i stayed on it for a couple minutes.. found out it was called "Paradise Lost" I had missed the first half and wasn't too sure what was going on. At the end of it i thought hrm.. 'i really gotta find out what happened with this case... 'that's how it all begun... the next day i jumped on the net and searched robin hood hill murders and i found the site www.wm3.org - every since then i've been totally obsessed with this case.
For some strange reason i was drawn to this case..many people i speak to about the case feel as though they can connect with the 3, that they were into heavy metal, wore black etc.. well that's not me at all.. i'm pretty much the opposite.. i'm a rnb, hip hop girl lol.. but yeah i was basically felt pulled to the case 4 some reason...I always watch the CI channel but this is the first time i've felt the need to research more about a particular case. I found out that Paradise lost wasn't going to be on the CI channel for another 2 months and I couldn't find it @ any stores here.. i ordered both dvds off Amazon and Damien's Book.
And now i'm spreading the word to everyone else about this case!

Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence?
The same police officers coerced an error-filled “confession” from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late— Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.
Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.
For over 13 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.
But there’s still hope for them, and you can help!

Hey thanks for accepting me!!! Great to see this up it's really great.
I found out about this the same way you did by watching the CI channel (gotta love it) a few years back. Ever since i was just infuriated everytime i saw it. Im taking photos at a WM3 charity gig in february i was so happy when i was offered it!
When i have some time im going to write letters to all 3 of them.
Thanks for letting me know about that. I made some badges up so I'll take them along about 200 of them left over... I've also got a few wrist bans left over from one I did at work which the money was sent to the fund.
thanks again.
