Bio / Projects:
1984-1999: The Hip Bone, weekly radio program on WFMU-FM, 91.1 (NY Tri-State Area). Music show with scripted humor, artist interviews and live performances, with a focus on experimental music, art and progressive rock, proto and post-punk, contemporary avant garde, drones, free improv etc.
1986-199?: Lo-Fi, 30-min. radio segment devoted to home-recording, d.i.y. artists. Program comprised solely of solicited contributions on cassette.
1988-1998: Uncle Wiggly, avant-rock-pop trio (briefly a foursome).
Released vinyl and CDs with Nur Sch. Rec. (Austria), Shimmy-Disc, Teen Beat (dist. & mfg. Matador), Hemiola (UK), Dark Beloved Cloud. Limited tours in Eastern US and twice in Europe.
1990s-present: Guitarist/sideman for some of the "heavies" of underground pop, most notably Arthur Lee of Love and Jowe Head of Swell Maps.
1996-1998: World (Without End)/ World (of Dreams), solo project devoted to personal catharsis through multitrack recording. 1 limited LP, 1 limited 7" and a widely available CD (as World (of Dreams)), all for the Dark Beloved Cloud label. One semi-disastrous live performance.
1998-1999: Pink Elephants, experimental trio with members of the band Fly Ashtray. Electric instruments, drums and percussion, samples and studio trickery.
1998-1999: Composed, and later organized a recording of "One", for any number of players to improvise, within certain rules and restrictions laid out in the 'score.' Largely inspired by an association over 1997-98 with La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela, as well as the work of Stockhausen (Aus Den Sieben Tagen), Morton Feldman and AMM.
2000+: Sinistre!, solo project, digital music mixed with 'environmental' sounds, keyboard, guitar, samples and loops.
Sinistre! has contributed to three compilation discs for dbc.
Several home-spun releases available.
2008: Created original score for the experimental short film Fable, by Gerald Slota.

If I'm feeling Sinistre, I don't go find a ministre, but hit the "vol. +" button on the board
when the noise is sculptural, I know a friend is culpable, emotions thus engendered not untoward
so if some intrepid blogger will have made it through this doggerel, I hope a link is made to send sound forth
