"As an artist I prefer the term “conductor” as apposed to other designations such as “director”.  The idea of something that channels energy from one place to another is very much a part of my philosophy.  I feel that my role as a conductor is to help focus the enormous energy and talent that is available in an ensemble.  Therefore it is my goal to create an atmosphere both in rehearsal and in performance where emotion, energy, and talent can be channeled into the music."
