On Thursday, July 23rd, WMPG continues its $250,000 "Power Up!" signal-improvement capital campaign by holding a "Power-Up" fund-raiser at Geno's on Congress Street in Portland. The concert will feature the bands Honey Clouds, Man-Witch and Huak. All the bands and the club are donating their services to the cause of WMPG's "Power-Up!" campaign. This concert represents just some of the eclectic music heard daily on WMPG.
Come on down to Geno's and see a great show and support WMPG at the same time!!!
Our Power Up! Campaign is to raise money to upgrade the 90.9fm signal to 4500 Watts and move the antenna to a HIGH tower on Blackstrap Hill in Falmouth. Please call (207) 780-4424 or on-line at WMPG.org to make a donation!
WMPG is always getting ready for the annual "CD and Record Sale!". We need your cd and record donations now. If you have any records or cds that you would like to donate to WMPG give us a call at (207) 780-4424. We can make arrangements to pick them up or drop them off at the studio weekdays between 9am-5pm. We are located at 92 Bedford Street in Portland on the first floor. Thanks from your friends at WMPG and hope to see you at the sale in November!
Born as a radio project in a Gorham Maine dorm room I've now grown into a super cool community radio station! You can find me on the USM Portland campus or online at www.wmpg.org. We play all kinds of music - everything from rock to global to bluegrass and everything else and have great local and national public affairs shows! Tune in to 104.1 or 90.9 and give us a listen or tune in online!

We are also working on getting Jeff on guitar from Legion of Jerry and Shakedown. So i think we are going to be putting on one hell of a show ;-)

Red Velvet Curtain Cult presents:
VIRGIN BRIDE by Tom Estes
Friday 22nd May
7pm-10.30pm
Benjamin Franklin House
36 Craven Street
London
WC2N 5NF
Following on from their sell out shows at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, The Red Velvet Curtain Cult shall inhabit and haunt the Benjamin Franklin House with site specific art, performance, film, oddities and happenings from 13 artists. Set in a Georgian house where layers of history unravel from behind panelled walls and deep-set fireplaces whisper ashes of deeds past, the artists will engage with and draw inspiration from the history of the space, including its most famous inhabitant Benjamin Franklin, he of keys and kites….
Expect spinning tops, glass armonicas, trepanning games, story telling, ceremonial mythologies, muffled whisperings, cyclical wanderings, all serenaded by the sound of a haunting electric cello…
