I enjoy working out with weights and have a high respect for those who know Kickboxing
and Karate, as I am learning the basics of Karate myself I find it an intriguing
sport and hope to learn more in the future.
Writing is the core of me, if you want to disover
my soul all you need is to search inside my poetry. There you might find my soul
hidden if you know where to search, I hide inside my writing words that portray
something beyond what is first thought to be written. The only way to understand
this hidden part of me would require knowing me on a deeper level.
Another
interest is hiking, although it has often been neglected in my more recent life
due to my personal shortcomings. No matter the neglect I still hold a passion
for nature, enjoying the glimpses I still get on occassion when I can pull myself
free from the things in life that I bind myself to. I spend most of my time in
deep thinking and for a majority of my life attempted to discover the true meaning
of honor, bonding better with those who have these same values.
My deepest
interest is self-discovery although I have far to go and
a mind that often fights this need inside to discover all I can.
I wish
to learn all about the mind and most of all its barracades, this is why I hold
to a more of a philisophical point of view. Self-discovery is the reason for my
interest in both the mind and philosophy. It is through having to deal with hardships
created from ignorance by others and myself that I have formed a unquenching thirst
for knowledge. As long as there are mistakes and trials, I know that I will continue
to search knowledge and what it really is.
My interest in archaeology
also derives from this, I find a treasure in wanting to learn about the mystery
that lies buried from our memories and wonder how much of the past is really buried
due to the destruction of time or of mankinds intent on erasing our history as
we often do in our our own individual memories.
I believe that learning
about the past is important not only due to the mystery of who we were but I know
that it can help us to discover why we are human and play the roles in life that
we do now. I see humans on many levels, its hard to hold the same beliefs that
I once did about others and myself; as I change inside my beliefs also change,
now being formed by me instead of the influence of the world. In life we all seem
to play roles, ones played out from times before us. This is why I find science
so amazing, we can interact in such an instinctual way while carrying another
level made up of feelings and emotions. Psychology to me is just that -the combination
of science and the world of emotions.
There is so much more about me
inside, I continue to grow and change as we all do, the more I surround myself
with certain ideas and beliefs the more they grow inside me to become who I really
am.
Music
Electronica/Industrial/Electro I also like some Alternative and Psychodelic
as long as it has a certain sound.

Television
Survivor Man, Last One Standing, Human Weapon, Scientific American Frontiers,
LA Ink, Cites of the Underground, Secret Lives of Women, The Real World, The Alaska
Experiment, Amazing Race (sometimes), Dirty Jobs, Overhaulin' and
Workout. While they were on I loved Monster House and the Apprentice.
I also love some of the shows on the discovery
science channel, particularly about the mind or genetics.
Books
I have been interested lately in anything regarding existential thoughts. In
the past I connected the most to books pertaining to overcoming hardships in life
because I felt and still feel that a true warrior is not one who has outer strength
but those who endure the trials of thier life on an internal basis and come out
stronger than the things they have faced.
I have read autobiographies
from both Martin Luther King, and Gandhi which helped me through some hard times
in my life while also helping me to grow inside. Another truly amazing book about
human growth through the hardest of times is a book called "A mans search for
meaning" by Viktor E. Frankl. For those who have not heard of it; it is about
how he survived the holocaust. Another book by Frankl that is perhaps harder to
read but just as beneficial is "The Doctor and the Soul" this book is
connected to his ideas regarding a therapy he created called "logo therapy"
but has a very philosophical feel to it.
Other books: Lord of the Flies, Swan Song, Grapes of Wrath, The Bell Jar, I Never
Promised You a Rose Garden, Fight Club, White Fang and Call of the Wild.
Heroes
Hypatia of Alexandria, H. G. Wells, Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, Dogtown boys,
Joan of Arc, Cleopatra, Marilyn Monroe, Carl Jung and Kim Peek

“Creativity is a drug I cannot live without”
         Cecil B. De Mille
I am a writer both in heart and soul,
it's as much a part of me as the skin I live in, but I am not limited to this
devotion - I enjoy music, thinking and have a passion for webdesign.
In my life I live as much as I can in the boundaries that have been set for me
- searching for enjoyment in the things I do, so that I may recieve the most from
what is given to me.
I admire cultures that pursue perfection within
thier simpliticy, I tend to respect ancient cultures such as the Egyptians and
the Samaurai for thier way of life as they worked to perfection in the things
they did, leaving out the unecessary complexities that life holds - instead focusing
thier minds on a higher quality through thier art, fighting, and anything else
they sought.
Another thing I admire about the Samaurai is thier ability
to forgive without question. I have thought about what must go on in the mind
for someone to have so much inner strength and peace for this to be possible.
I search for truth in my life, although I often fall short of who I could
be, I enjoy learning from those who might teach me. Some people I have admired
in my past are - Gandhi, MLK Jr., and Frankl. They were able to obtain a closer
understanding of truth on some levels and in a way I am working to achieve this
as my own personal fulfillment, although I know my own struggles get in the way.
I know what I am seeking is hard to obtain, because of my inner battles
-I search the truth while alternately seeking out ignorance, as ignorance can
bring the delusion of safety.
I enjoy the idea of philosophy and agree
with the belief that you deny yourself of growth if you determine that you know
everything instead of understanding there is so much more in life that we can
learn.
There are many parts to me, the side faced with the need for growth and another
that understands why a person can feel as if they are brought to thier knees -
this is why I love movies like Prozac Nation and Fight Club.
These parts
are both my inner growth and downfall; inside of me is a constant war of thinking
and thought which at times can cause me to stand still in life, unknowing of where
my next path might be or if I even want to take one.
At one time
I measured my successes by what I achieved through the world but I now have started
to measure them by what I can achieve through my own mind.

"every time we are disturbed,
no matter what the cause, there is something wrong with us No matter how unreasonable
others may seem, I am responsible for not reacting negatively. Regardless of what
is happening around me I will always have the perogative, and the responsibility,
of choosing what happens within me. I am the creator of my own reality. When I
[review my day], I know that I must stop judging others. If I judge others, I
am probably judging myself. Whoever is upsetting me most is my best teacher. I
have much to learn from him or her, and in my hearts, I should thank that person."

Who I'd like to meet:
People who are true to themselves as well as thinking for themselves. The
type of person I most connect with are those who are are deep thinkers, original
or talented writers...
I love to add bands when I think they have a certain quality or sound, my
favorite type of music is industrial, but I do like other styles if done
in the right way. I connect best with the mixture of original sound and
lyrics that reach beyond societies set ideals, this is why mind.in.a.box
is my favorite band.
