Bio
Weird Naked Indian are an alternative, acoustic rock trio from South Wales. After forming one summer, not so many years ago and playing only a couple of open mic nights in and around South Wales they were offered their first gig supporting Them Is Me (former Reef front-man and drummer of Basement Jaxx). Since then, WNI have had the pleasure of performing alongside The Manic Street Preachers, Paul Potts, Aziz Ibrahim (Stone Roses), Tommy Scott (Space), and most recently opened for Joan Armatrading on her Starlight world tour. In April 2011 Michael Sheen commissioned Weird Naked Indian to write the anthem 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' for his production of 'The Passion'. Their music featured in 2 documentaries on the BBC network and in a film of 'The Passion' by Palm D'Or winner Keith Griffiths and Dave McKean. 2012 saw the release of Weird Naked Indian Summer, the band's first EP which has had tracks played on various radio stations with one track recently selected by Tom Robinson of 6Radio as part of the BBC Introducing platform. Quotes: "Weird Naked Indian have a unique style and big sound" – Nation Radio "Wow, incredible song craft, passionate execution, Weird Naked Indian lack nothing. Rich melodies, stomping beat and captivating charm." – DJ Alli-Cat, Total Rock Radio The 'Weird Naked Indian Summer' EP is available on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/weird-naked-indian-summer-ep/id541827661 Stream on Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/album/1SZcmc3QM0PJV4lZoOKjif -
