Pollock has been many years in the making, with many incarnations, finally becoming complete in the spring of 05'. I'm not gonna list influence, it's an endless list. Each member has contrasting influences, making this a very unique line-up of musicians. They've all gone to great lengths meet in the place from which the music stems (the music drawing heavily from personal philosophies and what some label as "occult perspectives"). The Human mind is the be-all end-all edifice from which inception/conception is born and dies. Step outside what you think your listening to and try to imagine that energy begins and ends where you choose it to(if you don't already).

Pollock; a single word that brings to mind one of the most brilliant artists of our time. If these Western New Yorkers took the namesake for a reason they were right on the mark. Taking a dark progressive look at music the influences of these guys can be traced to bands such as A Perfect Circle or a more apologetic Nine Inch Nails. While this is in the sound, they never fail to remember the roots where this music came from. Dreamy transitions in a few of their songs add a very Cure-esque feel to it. While it is almost cliché to site the Cure as an influence, these guys have been able to add a lot of originality to the mix. The arrangements are well thought out, and make all the songs dive and build while the listener has no clue what to expect next. It all comes together in a way so that it is simultaneously dark, uplifting, heavy and like a dream.
