La Wogiagia crew nasce nel febbraio 1999 nella periferia Nord di Roma, con lo scopo di musicare le prime liriche reggae che già da tempo alcuni dei componenti scrivevano sotto forma di poesia. La prima formazione a cinque lascia ben presto il posto ad una più ampia di dieci elementi che fa della contaminazione musicale la connotazione principale del progetto: reggae, jazz, rock, ska. .... Tra il 1999 e il 2001 la band si attiva per la diffusione del proprio messaggio musicale, il Woggiapensiero: vince la nona ed. del "Bluenote festival"(maggio-giugno '99), si aggiudica le selezioni nazionali per la rassegna musicale "Rockness, festival di musica fuori circuito”(2000). Nel Dicembre 2001 la band viene invitata a partecipare alla realizzazione della comp. "Si reggae forte", ad opera del Manifesto e della Satta Records. .... Nel Luglio 2002 i Wogiagia si separano: sei dei dieci componenti originari prendono altre strade e la band muta considerevolmente: voce femminile, basso, batteria, chitarre e fiati. Dopo una breve preparazione del nuovo spettacolo (Sett. - Dic. 2002), la crew riprende a lavorare per la realizzazione del “woggiaprogetto”, con uno spirito rinnovato e inevitabilmente modificato nell’aspetto musicale. Riprendono i live e si realizza il primo lavoro autoprodotto: “So volare” (Maggio 2003). .... Tra Aprile e Maggio 2004 la band parte per una tournèe nei Paesi Baltici (Lettonia, Estonia, Lituania) in occasione dell’allargamento U.E. e del Festival Italiano, realizzando sette date con ottimi risultati di pubblico e di critica; a Luglio vince le selezioni Nazionali per Musicarnevart 2004. A Dicembre dello stesso anno la trasmissione Demo (Radio1) li seleziona per il consueto premio annuale assieme ad altri gruppi indipendenti italiani. .... Nel 2005 la band risulta la migliore band del 2005 per "Liberi Gruppi" (Popolare network- Milano), conquistando il Mainstage del Rototom Sunsplash European Reggae Festival (3 Luglio 2005). .... Inizia una fase molto produttiva per la crew che, tra il 2006 e il 2008 pubblica 2 album, "Musica Terapeutica" e "Scegli!", vince il contest nazionale "Primo Maggio tutto l'anno 2006", aprendo il Concertone a Piazza San Giovanni ( 1 Maggio 2006), realizza 3 Tour promozionali in tutta Italia, con all' attivo piu' di 150 date (Superalacima tour 2006 - Scegli Tour 2007 e Senza Voce Tour 2008) e promuove diverse iniziative, tra le quali spiccano le collaborazioni con la Essedierre e la Trifonica, il Progetto Liberalarte (www.fpml.it), Friends for water (friendsforwater.org). .... Nel Giugno 2009 la crew pubblica "Oggi bevo", primo disco co prodotto assieme alla "woggiapeople" attraverso alcune iniziative di autofinanziamento (Woggiamanager per un giorno e Adotta l'arte 2010) che hanno coinvolto attivamente circa 500 finanziatori. Anche l'"Oggi bevo tour", completamente auto gestito, ha portato la band in giro per l'Italia grazie al prezioso lavoro di un promoter d'eccezione: il pubblico. Nel 2010 la band, dopo aver vinto il "Roma rock festival" di "Repubblica", sta preparando il nuovo spettacolo per il "Liberastamusica tour" che e' partito da Roma il 26 Marzo. ........ "Oggi bevo" - 2009.. .... ..........ENGLISH VERSION:.... .. ....The Wogiagia crew was born in 1999 with the aim to create and to spread their project..: a new artistic laboratory that, through live performances, records and cultural events, acts as attraction pole for all those who by means of music and the Arts in general terms want to express their own view. .. ..In May 1999.., the band wins the 9th edition of the “Bluenote Festival” and the following July, it participates in the “Festa Europea della Musica” (European Music Festival). In the meantime, they go on TV (Rai Sat and Canal Jimmy). The Wogiagia often play live, which is very important to them and they do it in several clubs in Rome. .. .. ..In June 2000.., the group wins the national selection for the musical event “Rockness, festival di musica fuori circuito”, in Bracciano, near Rome. .. Meanwhile, the Group's new web site is born. .. .. Their engagements grow: “Castello Reggae festival” (Alvito, Fr), “Effetto Notte”, (Teleroma 56). .. .. ..In December 2001.., the band is invited to join the making of the compilation “..Si reggae forte..”, by the Fattoria Sonora, edited by Satta Records and distribuited by Il Manifesto, with several other emerging groups of the reggae world. .. .. In ..July 2002, the Wogiagia break up..: four of nine members go their way and the band changes definitely becoming bass, drums, guitar and trumpet. .. .. After a short rehearsal of the new show (Sept-Dec. 2002), the Wogiagia keep working on their project but with a new spirit. ..They go back to playing live and they make their first self produced work: “So volare” (June 2000)..... .. Between April and May ..2004, the band leaves for a Tour all over the Baltic Countries (Latvia, Esthonia, Lithuania) to mark the EU enlargement and the Italian Festival... They schedule seven dates with a remakable success of public and critics and in July they win the national selection for Musicarnevart 2004 (Anguillara Sabazia, Roma). At the end of the year the radio programme Demo (Radio1Rai) invites them to take part in their annual award along with other independent groups. ..In 2005.. the band is testimonial for “Avvertenze generali 2005”, wins the national selection of the ..Rototom Sunslash.., reaching 5th place and winning the Best Band of 2005 for “Liberi Gruppi” (Popolare network – Milano), gaining the prestigious Mainstage of the Rototom Sunsplash Reggae Festival (Osoppo-Udine)... .. 2006: ..Recently, the band has finished its second album “Musica Terapeutica”.. (with the collaboration of Trifonica ed.), and now they are busy with the promotion through partnerships (Reska comp. Vol 2, E.R.B.A. project), radio and TV (Radio Tre, La7, Radiopopolare, Radio1Rai, Radio2Rai, etc.), interviews (Corriere dello sport, Radio2, Muz Magazine, etc.), reviews (Tribe Magazine, Rivista on line) and many musical events (..winner in the 2nd edition of “Primo Maggio tutto l'anno” together with Riserva Moac, and both were the opening bands at the “Concertone 2006” in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome..). However, they never stop playing live, which is the most important aim of their project (Superalacima tour – 42 dates: Rome, Viterbo, Lecce, Frosinone, Orvieto, Udine, Modena, Terni, Catania, Caltanissetta, Palmi, Milan, Varese, Cagliari, Genova, Salerno, Campobasso)....... ....
