Our history: More than 20 years had passed since a relatively unknown band named Sojourner performed around the east Tennessee and Knoxville area. As remnants of Sojourner, we found ourselves playing music together once again. This reconfirmed the chemistry of good friendship, a passion for making music, and above all, an enduring desire to serve Christ.
Our sound: We explore a variety of topics on Christian faith using the familiar sound of a 60s/70s small rock combo. Musically true to form - guitars, Rhodes, B3, bass, and drums. No "worship songs" here, but the songs are based on our journey as Christians, including the sometimes harsh realities of life.
Our name: Our name comes from the phrase, "The wheels of justice turn slowly, yet they grind exceedingly well" which kind of sums up the patient, methodical approach we take in creating music.
Do we perform live? No. Wheels of Justice is not a typical band that records an album and then tours to promote the album. Wheels of Justice itself, is three people - Mark Bowman, Lee Thomas, and Dan Grant, and the focus of our role's as musicians, recording artists, engineers, and producers does not lend itself to conventional live performance. Also, we typically perform several parts using multiple instruments on any given song and we don't have that many hands!
