"To describe WolfeBlitzer's new ten-song CD "Lonely World" as a heavy metal album is to completely overlook many of the subtleties that distinguish it from many of the genre's less successful contemporaries. Sure, the musicianship is strong and competent, but what sets this album apart are the compositions which comprise this effort. The chorus of the title track, for example , contains some very surprising and sophisticated modulations which are effectively placed without drawing any undue attention to themselves. "Rollin'" addresses heavy metals frequent inability to swing with copious doses of hip-shakin butt-rockin' groove power. And "Hungry for Love" contains real live hooks! Honestly! When did you last hear a catchy hook in a heavy metal context? And to top it all off the glassy mix by recording engineer Gregg Gill shows everything off to its finest advantage. WolfeBlitzer's "Lonely World" is a first rate and thoroughly professional package that stands head and shoulders above much of what is available on the current metal scene"

WolfeBlitzer, the band, was formed in 1993 by L.A. based bandmates Lee and Val Seals. Lee and Val played for several years in a previous project "Valor" where they met and began playing and writing music together. After Valor disbanded, the idea of a new project featuring Lee on guitar (rather than bass) and showcasing the couples original music began to take hold. Together, as part of both Valor and WolfeBlitzer, they played many of the top L.A. / Orange County / Hollywood venues.
In 1996, Lee and Val went on what turned into an 8 year hiatus which began as an effort to put family and economic stability first. In other words, they were tired of partying and the scene, in general. By that time, the Grunge era was well under way and interest in WolfeBlitzer's style of metal was waning. The couple became hypnotized by the grind of daily living and their metal dreams were drowned by a work-induced coma. In July of 2002, Lee and Val moved to Houston, TX, which they now call "home away from home". In early 2003, the metal dreams began to resurface and call to their hearts. That calling could not be denied and the couple began hitting the Houston clubs in search of direction and a core of kindred spirits.
The next few years brought several lineups of WolfeBlitzer, always
with Lee and Val at the core, and two independently released discs, "Metal From the Ashes" and "Lonely World".
