Wolfencross was formed back in 2005 by Ares (lead vocals) and Erik (guitars, chorus). They were interested in creating a band based upon Norwegian black metal of the early 90's, 80's Thrash and Scandinavian Death Metal, all of that mixed with epic tunes and evocating atmospheres. Once that Racso (keyboards) joined the band, they began to rehearse and look for members to complete a stable line-up. Some months later - after Astur and Halderd's departure-, James Surt joined the band as a temporary guitar player but once that Fer (guitars) eventually joined the band, Surt switched his role for the bass, which is actually his main instrument. By the end of 2005 they had songs enough to show on stage, so there was that they took part in Antichristmas Fest in Madrid (their hometown), and after quite good reviews on their shows appearing here and then, they gained a great amount of attention from the fans of the scene, who started to ask themselves who were these guys and where did they come from. After playing at Barbarian Wrath Fest Luis quit the band giving way to Juan as a drummer. The band continued playing live, sharing stage with a great bunch of bands like: Hordak, The Art of Blasphemy, Omission, Kathaarsys, Berserk, Foscor, Catamenia, Negura Bunget, Skyforger, Ensiferum, and many more... People started to ask for recorded stuff soon, so was that Wolfencross got in motion to record their first work, quite a hard process that took from summer to winter, 2008. The album was finally called "Winds From the past". Featuring six songs of pure Celtiberian Black Thrash, inspired by historic events and legends clearly reflected both in music and lyrics, "Winds From The Past" represents an awesome debut album; raw, atmospheric, blasting tunes blending all those influences aforementioned with touches of folk-pagan music. Meanwhile, the band was playing, routing, promoting "Winds From The Past" across Spain with a new member - Nexus 6 - replacing Fer (that left the band back in 2008) at guitars. After all shows in 2010 Juan, Javier & Erik decide to leave the band and nowadays the band is focused on creating new stuff for a forthcoming new album,- to be recorded in 2011- They are seeking new members to replace guitars and drum duties. Also they are seeking label to work a deal with.
