Originally hailing from Sydney, Pivot have spent the most part of their career completely in musical seclusion.
Though formed in the late nineties, the band have gone through a myriad of sounds and refined lineups before their first album, the acclaimed LP Make Me Love You landed in 2005. Now settling as a 3-piece, brothers Laurenz & Richard Pike & David Miller (who joined the group in 2006) are set to release their new album O Soundtrack My Heart to a waiting world.

With a little help from a label we admire greatly (WARP fucking RECORDS - past and present home to the likes of !!! (chk chk chk), Aphex Twin, Jackson & His Computer Band, Autechre, Battles, LFO, Nightmares on Wax), Pivot are now earning acclaim and accolades from all corners of the globe for their intensive studio production work, and an explosive live show to match. Described as ‘part-prog warrior/ part-slacker geek’, these three Australian-expats take their cues from influences such as early synth-pioneers Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre and the new-wave of Talking Heads.

And whilst you’ve probably never seen their names mentioned amongst the hundreds of html hipster centres of the blogosphere, it’s the bands’ ability to combine the emotive with the cerebral, whilst maintaining a raw energy akin to any garage band that is beginning to pay off in a big way.

Playing a range of festivals in Europe in June (their first time at Glastonbury), then returning to the ‘old country’ in July to support Iceland’s Sigur Ros on their upcoming Australian tour, Pivot will headline the 2nd last WolfGang Monthly July 31st.

New single In the Blood is out now, a juggernaut of a track that pulses and lurks with menace, and with a video to match that could really be a contender for video of the year.
