wolflamb homepage WolfLamb is a two musicians’ unit, Sayaka/Vocal&Drums and Hal/Guiter&Programing.
They met at a shared-house in 2007, and started having sessions and creating songs together .
In 2008, they started music activity as a unit, and name it “WolfLamb”.
“WolfLamb”means “wolf” and “lamb”, but it presents current power balance between young men and women in Japan, strong lamb girls and somehow weak wolf boys.
By the way, why Sayaka presents herself as Lamb?? Because she was born in year of Lamb (Chinese astrology), loves Rum very much(in Japanese there aren’t actual difference between “R” and “L” sounds, like English or other languages) and she likes “Rumu-chan”, the character in Japanese comic “Urusei Yatsura” written by Rumiko Takahashi.
“WolfLamb” has created new music genre “Ani-Rock”, mixed Animation and Rock together. The vocalist Sayaka’s appearance and voice have element of animation character, but their songs are Rock.
As you can see their illustration on the website, they create Japanese lyrics with girls’ desire and little selfishness into it as their policy, and express “girls can be little erotic too”. And there is a background of Japanese problems behind this intention…they want young people try to find their energy back from their repressed feelings, or can’t express their honest feelings.
That sounds quite serious unit, isn’t it ?
“WolfLamb” actively has live concerts at various places, mainly in Shibuya, Kouenji, Shinjuku area, and in 2008, they performed in “Kunitachi Fes”, ”Tokyo Design Festa” also. Their first single “Puma” was released in Sep 2008, and their first album will be released in Fall 2009. They are now working on their planed album.
If any bands, visual creators, and/or event organizers who would like to invite and corroborate with ”WolfLamb”, please feel free to contact us!
