Canadian born Wolf Mail started playing guitar at age 10 listening to Elmore James and Ray Charles records. He did his first gig at 14 and ran away from home at 17 to tour with his own band. Later on that year he met with Detroit guitarist Ted Nugent and spent some time on the road with him. Meeting Ted was very influential for Wolf as he decided to relocate to California shortly after to pursuit his musical career.
From his early gigs at the famous Whisky a gogo in Los Angeles, to the Shibuya nights in Tokyo, Japan or the Quartier latin in Paris, France, Wolf always had an intense passion for the stage as he is currently one of the rare artists in today's scene to successfully tour four continents on a yearly basis. He clocks in over 200 gigs a year in the US, Canada, Japan, Europe and Australia.
Press & musical style
Mail has a very clean, powerful and yet intense guitar style. During his headline performance at the Narooma Blues festival with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Tony Jagger has said "Words simply cannot describe the intensity and clarity that comes out of this man's guitar" . The Australian southern star also states " The man has a voice that will raise chicken skin down your back" "Wolf's playing is concentrated with no waste", as the UK Gloucester times recalls "Wringing emotions out of every note and making each one counts". Wolf's live performances are legendary, and as Ron Edmonds from Exclusive management puts it "You always get something out of a Wolf Mail show, if you don't relate to his songs you will sure relate to the intense passion he's got for them"
New album
Wolf is currently in the studio working on a follow up to his previous album "Blue fix" (ZKS/BSMF/EMI Records), a collection of original Blues/rock material written with the Steve Miller Band.
Band
Wolf tours in Australia with bassist Ian Lees and drummer Rudy Miranda from the Mal Eastick band. For overseas touring ,Mitch Mulder who supports Steve Lukather on his European tours handles the bass and long time friend and eclectic drummer Chris Russo fills in on the drums
CD sale & radio
With weekly radio airplay in over 2000 stations worldwide, It seems that Wolf's hard work is starting to pay off, as his last record "Solid ground" managed to spend 3 weeks in the Japanese top 10 best selling Blues/country charts (May 2005), and 10 days in the U.S top 100 best selling Blues charts. (Dec 2003).
Endorsements
Wolf is also enjoying the support of many, from Mark Knopfler asking for his own copy of "Solid ground" to Robben Ford requesting Wolf for opening act, to the 3M project, which features Mail with Australia's top guitarists Mal Eastick, and Ian Moss. Mail is fully endorsed by Washburn and Samick guitars, with a Wolf Mail signature on its way, as well as Dean Markley Strings, and Carvin amplifiers.
Side projects
Mail is presently teaching two master classes untitled the "art of guitar" and "The business of music" in accordance to his touring schedule to various conservatories around the world. Wolf is also busy working on his new book "What day job?" a guide to fellow musicians on how to improve their ways to make a better living in the music business, scheduled for release in Dec 2008.
*** ...the Roy Buchanan of our time, a new updated, powerful , creative and fatally seductive artist. If you have not got to him yet, your journey in the Blues world is indeed incomplete.

*** ...a very polished player that tends to demonstrate more of the "beauty" side of blues/rock guitar, as opposed the "beast" so prominent in more aggressive styles. ””
***...wringing emotion out of every note and making each one count rather than just playing for effect. There is so much more subtlety here than is usually found at the rock end of the spectrum, Mail is way out in front and still travelling!”
Linda Fisher – London Times, UK
*** I pay him the ultimate compliment by saying that his sound is strictly Wolf Mail”

"Here's something a bit different. These guys are heavily influenced by Rory Gallagher, Status Quo and early 70's British bluesy hard rock. They've got a great groove in the rhythm section, a fine guitarist in Guy Rosewall, and their album 'Bullfrog Blues' is recommended! The album includes a rockin' take on Rory's "Seven Days". Definitely not another SRV clone"
"The band is driven beautifully by Terry Brown on drums and Tim Chapple on bass, the latter laying down a stomping beat on every number.......... on the showing of this album I would strongly recommend them" (Ian McKenzie - Blues In The South).
