  • Bio

..A Bad Night For A Hero is not your neighbor's garage band. They are a catchy indie band from Colorado intent on hooking you in. Standing tall in the kiddie pool that is Colorado's indie scene, they will pluck at your heart strings. They will give you something to feel as well as something to hear. ABNFAH was born of CJ Hackett's mind, but after a steady stream of uncommitted musicians, it quickly became his solo project. Writing melodic music and songs based on his personal experiences, the potential for something great was clear. It took a year, but his songs improved and after saving enough money for decent equipment, CJ was able to record the album, "The Romance You Wanted" and although the general consensus was positive, he wasn't satisfied with himself. Right now, the band consists of Jense Jorgenson, Evan Fondrick, and CJ. They constantly write new songs and attempt to create catchy material. Finding themselves in an unfamiliar position where working alone is not an option, combining their brainwaves and various influences is a must. With competition always around the corner, their goals remain a distant oasis, but the band continues it's trend of being awesome, even as they search for their sound. The band hopes to find a full time bassist in the near future, and to one day, be known through out Colorado, as an indie band that brings tears and thoughtful memories as well as seizures upon the dance floor. Until then, they will continue the pursuit of epic indie music.....

  • Influences

Saves The Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab for Cutie, Bloc Party, Ash, Thursday, Sondre Lerche, The Get Up Kids, We Are Scientists, Say Anything, Say Hi, and The Black Keys. Honestly there are a lot more influences, but those are definitely some of the most important.

What's up A Bad Night For A Hero? If I could have just one wish, it would be to wake up to your songs in the morning. Panoramic aromavision is the future. I desire to see life through your hallucinations so that they massage my viscera into an eternal state of turgid flux. So charmingly silky, your skin is like a teardrop on a popsickle. As the bliss slowly rises in my incandescent eluxulator, your mere presence has a euphoric effect upon me. You are dressed with filaments and people take pains to make you fully incandescent this evening. Your layers of absinthe and torsion form concretions of hyper-alimentation. The music that flows from your instruments overwhelms me with creativity. A starfish's lifelong hallucinations of gelatin pools and of actuaries floating upon the foam and reciprocal ohm. Your cleverness helps me breathe without the need of oxygen. Your intoxicating reflection can but incorporate freely into the powerful surface of a disintegrating mirror set afloat upon a swarm of locusts.

Well. basically. pretty much, so

Currently in flux, ABNFAH is a gently evolving indie baby. With acoustic and electronic music, a wider audience is targeted, and with bleeding heart lyrics, Kleenex is kept in business. Maybe a little chicken soup for your soul and/or metronomic dance disaster. As long as you're feeling something real, and it's not the urge to run to the bathroom, perhaps we can say something amazing has occurred.
