I love to exercise on my Urban Bouncer and do Tai Chi warmups. I love to golf, but also go bowling, bicycling and do gardening. I have 235 Hostas in my yard and 7 new lilac bushes and have planted several trees. I have a wonderful tabby male cat called Tiger. Such a lovable cuss. We got him Labor Day weekend 2004 in Houghton Lake at a rummage sale for free. He was the runt of the litter and getting picked on. Now he picks on us, not really. Two years later to the day we got another free kitten, colored tuxedo black and white, at another rummage sale. This one is named Jumper. I love to shop; I am definitely a clothes horse. With the rest of my spare time I love promoting the WKN, writing sets for my act, and perfecting my magic, and hanging out with my friends. I've also gotten two deer. Unfortunately, not with a rifle or bow and arrow, but with two different Chevys. The last deer I hit in 2004, even though I had two deer whistles on my front bumper. Wouldn't you know I'd hit a deaf deer! I enjoy covering the Detroit Demolition of the Independent Womens Football League. I'm also an avid reader; books newspapers, magazines, whatever.
Music
Barry Manilow is my favorite singer. I also enjoy music of the Roaring Twenties like Paul Whiteman and the Coon Sanders Nighthawks. I also enjoy singing "Danny Boy", which I sing in the 50 hr. Weekend St. Patricks' Day Marathon. Ch. 4 Detroit, CNN and 47 TV stations worldwide covered my singing....? prowess. I've expanded my musical talents by taking up the kazoo.
Movies
My favorite movies are chick flicks and comedies.
Television
My favorite programs are comedies, standup and football.
Books
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, Psycho Cybernetics, Blink, How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less, 7 Habits by Covey, and books on speed reading and attention deficit disorder which I operate with. Also enjoy reading books on magic and mentalism as well as good biographies, especially of show biz personalities. Lastly, a whole raft of self-help books, tapes and cds too numerous to mention here.
Heroes
JESUS CHRIST, Maxwell Maltz (editor of PSCHO CYBERNETICS), my Dad and Mother and Aunt Carol. Lastly, who could not admire our valiant men and women in our Armed Forces, and all the hard-working Americans you've never heard of, who make our country great. We may not be perfect, but how many countries have people risking their lives to gain entry?
About me: I'm a stand-up comedienne and performer of Lynndini magic, and promoter of women's comedy events. I'm proud to be the MC/Executive Director of the Womyns Komedy Netwerk (WKN) since February 2005. I also produce and host a public access TV show called ERICAS TYME, airing since 1996. The show airs in 11 cities in Oakland County at CMN on Saturdays at 12:30 am, 4:00 am and 11:30 PM on WOW channel 18 and Comcast channel 52. It also airs on Tuesdays at 9:00 in Southfield, Roseville, Oak Park, and Hamtramck on Comcast channel 18. The show has won several cable awards from CMN. My associate producer Kris McLonis also does my theme song. Such a talented musician and a great friend! Summers I like to spend time up in Where, Michigan on the North shore of Houghton Lake, our state's largest inland lake. I love to golf but don't keep score, no one can count that high. In my spare time I enjoy listening to old-time radio and mind aerobics. I read self-help materials and exercise, including riding my Land Rider automatic shift bicycle. In January of 2007, WKN member Toni Imhoff won the "Best Female Comic" award at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. My favorite comic is Karen Rontowski, whom I met at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak. What a super talent, and this lady is as nice as she is funny. If she is your area, don't miss her! Other current comediennes I admire are Kathleen Madigan, Elayne Boosler, Rita Rudner and Mary Ellen Hooper. Four other very funny female comics are Linda Belt, Kathie Dice, Sue Fracker and Kate Brindle. Try my Auntie Erica's Oatmeal Pie; I am also a household tips columnist and writer for the bi-monthly magazine "Ferndale Friends". Congratulations to the Detroit Demolition who won the 2007 IWFL Championship in Atlanta. I also enjoy the plays and comedy of Planet Ant In Hamtramck. Come join in the fun there at the Ant Jam Mondays at 8 pm. I made my 2008 singing debut at the "Danny Boy" Marathon at AJ's Cafe in March and also performed there for the "Singin' in the Shower" event in August. Most recently, I have founded ESTROGEN TYME, a women's improv group. Our first performance will be at the Planet Ant Summer Colony Fest on July 15. I'm developing a new interactive comedy/improv play, "Hamtramck Tyme". Stay tuned for further developments! KUDOS, ERICA LYNN
