   About James Marion’s Music
James Marion is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. He is influenced by music from ABBA to Zappa. His work draws comparisons to Daniel Johnston and Neil Young. James Marion grew up in the small town of Terrell, TX. He eventually left for college where he studied music, film, and drugs. It was during this time that he started writing songs. After tiring of the apparent pointlessness of his college education, he decided to move to Los Angeles in hopes of finding fertile soil from which he could harvest a new life, and a new future. James Marion has been told by many teachers, friends and strangers that he is destined for greatness. However, since he can’t rely on the clairvoyance of others, he continues to work at writing the best songs he can possible write. If you are interested in having James Marion write songs for you or your band, please feel free to contact him through this page.

But seriously, I like that you found such charming lyrics to go along with that great melody you wrote years ago. And by the sound of the production, you're learning a lot out there in Hollywood. Keep it up, my bruthah. See you soon. Bleh.
Scott

You sounded a little like Paul McCartney at the beginning, like as if the song was an outtake from the White Album or something.
Now the caption to my drawing makes a little more sense to the folks at home! Not to mention, you got yourself a good little ditty there to get muh toes' tappin'!

Nice harmonica fade out at the end of your song. How's the female candy out in Hollywood? Is it a copious wonderland of girls as advertised?

I was reading the new Harry Potter book like a good little boy, but then you gave me Songs In the Key of Z, and now I'm doing stuff I promised I'd never do. Like buy the Shaggs. How dare you. I mean thank you very much. And Cheeseburger Man is great. It confused my brother, which is always a sign of true quality.

I have my MP3 player on random, and it always wants to randomly play your music, especially Jive Turkey and Lonely Teardrops. I find this interesting because they're the only ones you have up right now. And because they are awesome. Crazy awesome.

O Marion. Listen With Your Headphones was unbelievably fantastic. Unfortunately, my stupid computer wouldn't let me download it. Please to be leaving it up for a long time, because I'm going to be ballsy and say that it's better than Jive Turkey. That may put me in the minority, but I don't care!
Scott

Nov 3 2006 12:20 PM

I love when I just randomly decide to check the music page and I'm again blessed with a new and fantastic Marion nugget of love. As tasty as an all-white meat Chicken McNugget. Salted with lonely teardrops.

There was some doo-wop band of the fifties that did a song called "Lonely Teardrops." I can't remember their name, but the song was pretty good. Yours is better.

Oct 19 2006 2:29 AM

The bass? Not so much. But as far as I'm concerned, that's ok. I think I can honestly say, especially on the second listen, that this is my favorite of all the songs that you have done. I played this and Jive Turkey for my brother. He was impressed. He likes Eve 6 and Alkaline Trio, so the fact that you reached him is pretty damn impressive. Again, I wuv you.
Scott

If I had to compare it to anything, "Fuck Yeah" sounds like the Dandy Warhols finally grew some balls. In a word (actually, two): "FUCK YEAH!!!"

We were speaking of belief; beliefs and conditioning. All belief possibly could be said to be the result of *some* conditioning. Thus, the study of history is simply the study of one belief system deposing another, and so on and so on and so on... A psychologically tested belief of our time is that the central nervous system, which feeds its impulses directly to the brain, conscious and subconscious, is unable to discern between the real, and the vividly imagined experience. If there is a difference, and most of us believe there is -am I being clear? For to examine these concepts requires tremendous energy and discipline. To experience the now, without preconception or beliefs, to allow the unknown to occur and to occur, requires clarity. And where there is clarity there is no choice. And where there is choice, there is misery. And why should anyone listen to me? Why should I speak, since I know nothing?

What was that classic song by Macy Gray? "I try to say goodbye and I choke, try to walk away and i stumble. Tho I try to hyde it, it's clear: my waffle walks when you are not there."
