About me:

I’m Giada Woodenboxes, I paint on wood. Why? Cause it’s like we are in two. Wood has its grains, its age, its weak parts and many gnarls, and the result depends only on a balance created in tiptoe. Cause I believe that surronding ourselves with wood makes us feel better. Wood speaks about us, it remembers stories, and at the same time it’s usefull like my tables or my doors…rests of old broken furniture that after being painted appear framed, and are ready to hang up another story… And then cause I know it’ll never give up, it’ll last more than me. woodenboxes@fastwebnet.it __________ ____________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________ Sono Giada Woodenboxes e dipingo su legno. Perché? Perché è come farlo in due. Ha le sue vene, la sua età, i suoi punti deboli e un'infinità di nodi irremovibili. E il risultato dipende da un'intesa che si crea in punta dei piedi. E poi perché credo che circondarsi di legno faccia bene. Se quel legno racconta di noi e nello stesso tempo serve, si rende utile come i miei tavoli o le mie porte. O si ricorda e ci racconta di noi come gli avanzi di quei mobili distrutti che una volta dipinti si incorniciano da soli, pronti per appendere un'altra storia al chiodo.
