Wooden Satellites is an independent band in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
C. Ray writes the songs. Andrea helps him sing the songs.
The name Wooden Satellites was cast off by another musician who wasn't going to use it so we took it.
In the Summer of 2008, C. Ray got very serious about finishing an album, so he spent most of August recording a debut, "Why Can't I Be Enough." The lyrical content of the album deals mainly with sacred characters and religious ideas explained with heavy doses of inadequacy. Musically it meshes classic pop songwriting with heavy rhythms, retro-synthesizers, and acoustic guitars.
A band was assembled. Wooden Satellites played a half dozen shows in Fort Wayne.
In the Spring, the band shed the live drummer and guitar player.
C. Ray is serious about recording again. Effort will only be put into one song at a time, hit single style. Songs will probably appear on this page or the official band blog at www.woodensatellites.com.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.

1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.

Haha well I was looking through MySpace music and the band members name caught my attention because both names sounded familiar. I was like... how many C.Ray Harvey's could there be??
