yeah... alot of documentaries. 'fourth world war', 'we', 'end of suburbia', 'the take', 'manufacturing consent', 'you cant be neutral on a moving train', 'zapatistas'... as well as coen bros. movies (raising arizona, o brother where art thou, fargo, barton fink, hudsucker proxy..)
About me: i have no idea. you tell me.
i feel lately like a moment. an unlikely convergence of streams. a duality presides. (i am neither of them.)
i am increasingly and painfully ecologically aware and this journey is currently challenging many of the assumptions i had previously stroked. i used to imagine an equitable, command-less, advanced, 'green' technological civilization in humanity's future.. even just a couple years ago i thought this.
and somehow, in an inexplicable journey with indeterminate waysides.. i have come to recognize dominant industrial culture as both impossible AND undesirable. it satisfies few and even those are satisfied in the most shallow of pursuits only.
been reading a great deal of derrick jensen. (speaking of the convergence of varied streams of thought.) the epiphany/page ratio of jensen's books beg a certain appropriate urgency. where do i get my priorities? who do they serve? what am i going to do about it?
i am not sure anymore if i live here. where i am. thinking alot about landbase lately and the complete lack of connection i have here with mine. so far, in many years, the land has been something i have 'visited' and even then only sparingly. interested generally in the pacific northwest.. or foreign lands. who knows. (no really, who the fuck knows? send me a note!)
i am determined to lend myself to a sustainable economy, to minimize my consumption and maximize my resistance. i haven't much certainty yet how i might go about this. have you already done this? tell me about it.
ok.
Who I'd like to meet: leavers!! those who might abandon it all for simplicity, those who have had it with legacies of domination and exploitation, those who are listening intently at the underside of empire, (for the right moment.) post-peak-oil vegan bicycle astronauts, ingesters of prohibited substances, wild-eyed doubters of the dominant economic and social mythologies, anarcha-feminists, class war anarchists, gardeners (especially permaculture!), eco-anarchists, post-leftists, insurrectionaries, mutineers, war resisters, order refusers, deserters, situationists, revolutionary queers, (deal with it.) antifa everywhere, defenders of wild nature and its inhabitants, insurgents, artists (everyone!), musicmakers (everyone!), squatters, outlaws, thinc.ers.
I see you've found my zine page. I hope you like it. :D
I also see you're friends with Derrick Jensen. You suck! I've been trying to add him forever but you can't unless you know his email address and he won't give it to you unless you meet him in person. :(
Anywho, cool page you got here. I knew who you were as soon as I saw the name. :P
En este mundo... ¡Otros mundos son posibles! ¡Other worlds are possible! ¡Les autres mondes sont possibles! ¡Andere Welten sind möglich! ¡Gli altri mondi sono possibili! ¡Andre verden er mulige! ¡Andere werelden zijn mogelijk! ¡Outros mundos são possível!
Brother, just wanted to drop you a line to tell ya how much I appreciate what your doin' here and on youtube. You showed up and burned like wild fire, displaying a fine example of what can be done on this medium. I lack the computer savvy but carry a hefty monkey wrench. You're an inspiration. Much respect.
The paintings are awesome man! What sizes are they? Can you give me an idea of prices as well? I'm strapped but I will certainly point folks your direction or, if any are available when I have funds, I will be interested. Much respect.
I love you, Babe. You have great perspective. And yes, I have all those songs already, and LOVE them. I went to see Tom Morello play live down the street at a little club... Boots opened. It was just him and an acoustic guitar. It was sooooo awesome! Wish you could've been there with me, we would've had a great time. It was a Tuesday night, and they played until 1am, and I had to work at 8am, but it was worth it. ;) We're surviving, and I'm looking forward to January 20th. xxoo
I love that poster. I'm totally going to use it around town. I'm all about the crash.
I think I saw the video, but it can't hurt to watch it again. I'm working (for lack of a better word) on getting people to work together on a lot of things, but you must know how that goes.
I was hoping you would do one as well. It will be an honor to share the "screen" with you! :)
Not a round trip.. per se.. more like an adventure with known starting point and no visible or known endpoint.. but I can assume I will make it back home one day for family.. whether it's this year or next.. etc.
