The brand new album by the Andrew Colman Quartet, 'I Remember You' is out now on 33 Jazz Records!!

It features Jamil Sheriff-Piano, John Perry-Drums and Jon Thorne-Double Bass.

The entire album is a testament to good jazz. The rhythm section sounds great, both individually and as a unit, complimenting Andrew’s lyrical style perfectly.

Aug 15 2008 6:10 PM

CHECK OUT!!!!

Ray Butcher quintet @ 606 club, 90 lots rd, sw10
3rd sept 2008

in club owner Steve Rubie's own words:
''Ray is an excellent Birmingham-based trumpet player and NYJO alumni whose extensive experience includes work with the likes of Soweto Kinch, Jean Toussaint, Tony Levin, Julian Siegel, and renowned soul singer Mica Paris. A highly professional as well as creative player Ray has 'paid his dues' touring extensively with various high profile artists and is now generally regarded as an important figure on the Birmingham Jazz scene. He actually 'sat in' with my band "Samara" here at the Club on New Year's Eve and I was so impressed with his fluent and powerful playing that I offered him a date with his own quintet. The music is an attractive mix of Jazz standards and some originals and is well worth catching. And you don't have to go to Birmingham to hear it!''
£8-coaches run all night! Just call National Express on +44 (0) 08717 818181

Hey Perry, just loving those Ardley-esque tones on the page. I need those to share with others. The shows are going great at the moment, so you'll have to come back in for a visit!

DJing with Mr Dewbury at the Jazz Rooms on Saturday 3rd Nov. There's a space with your name on it on the minibus mate if you're interested. Lemme know.

see ya soon (I hope)

Yep, Perry... if I made music it would sound like Woodland Conclave...

Nice big group mate, and recorded in my fave part of the UK, love it around Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, we're regulars 'round there y'know!

"Song Of Joy" is pretty tasty, as is the rest of the project, lemme know when you're ready for airplay mate, love to play tracks on me little show...

It's about time! I was losing faith in good music...
