The “Wood of Light” are a Progressive Metal band from Venetic Area.
At the beginning of 2005, Osvaldo Indriolo (keyboards) and Martino Vittori (drums until 2009)
formed the band.
At once, the purpose of the Wood of Light was that of making their own music and to discover new
and intimate sonorities, in spite of the big in,,uences of Progressive and Metal.
Although there was some changes in line-up, the Wood of Light exceed successfully the ordinary
obstacles for a brand new band.
As a matter of fact, in Spring 2006, the Wood of Light found their composure thanks to Mirco Brunello
(guitars) and Damiano De Marchi (bass). At the beginning of 2007 the singer Paolo Guerra joined the
group too.
So, they composed and recorded the tracks published in “Materioteca 07” (EP produced by themselves).
The work, published on-line, helped the Wood of Light making oneself known.
Their performances are very well attended: the audience really enjoy their music, as well those who
dislike metal sound.
Nomadism Record, an Apulian label, noticed the brand new band and in June 2009 decided to
produce a Digipack DVD: ”United Artists Against Music Piracy”.
Also Bunker Productions,a young independent label from Mogliano Veneto (TV), noticed the group.
The label published “Bunker ,,les 00” compilation in October 2008 and the last EP “Materioteca 08” in
coproduction with the Wood of Light. The EP is sponsored by some local private companies.
The Wood of Light had very good reviews for their last work: the group is judged as an original and
stimulating Progressive Metal ensemble (group) among the Italian brand new bands’ scene.
At the moment, the group is composing a new Concept Album.
The hope is to associate the name of the Wood of Light as a professional brand, with the aim to invest
in new talents, to strengthen the band’s and label’s image.
about “materioteca’s project”
The term “Materioteca” speci,,es that technological archive which intends to be an instrument of
knowledge and di,,usion of information.
In a simple way, it’s a museum and a materials’ collection of di,,erent genres.
This is the EPs’ concept: a collection, a sample about their meaningful materials and a demonstration
about Wood of Light’s potentiality and of their growth through the years.
