Formed in 1994. Joe White & Eric Seipp (myspace.com/goldenpig) had put together some really cool & heavy demos with the help of a drum machine and showed them to Paul English (4 Headed Baby) who began to weave his lyrical magic to them. The three were hangin' out at James Hunnicutt's (Misery Seed) pad getting trashed and played the demo for him while discussing their plans of creating a new band. Upon hearing the tape James began to air drum/pound the floor with his feet as if he were playing drums to the songs in question. Paul said "Hey man, you should play drums for our band". James said "O.K." & WOODROT was born. This 4 piece line up recorded an 8 song self-titled demo which attracted the attention of Tony Reed (Mos Generator). Tony had recorded the demo and liked what he heard. Tony was also a much better drummer than James so it was decided that Tony would take over the "drum stool" (mind you!) and James would move over to 2nd guitar. It was at this point that WOODROT began to show all it's might. The band recorded & released a self titled 7" & another demo "ETHICS A RELIC" in 1995 and 1996 respectively. The band was and still is notorious for it's live prowess. Though never a full time deal WOODROT continues to dust off the cobwebs every year or two for a gig or two and make B-Town recognize & if you didn't already know this "You'll Never Know"!!!!!!!The CricketSoda Myspace Editor!..
Hells yeah, creatures! Jeez_us! It was such a treat seeing you guys Saturday night... bummed you can't partake in the In Mem. release in June.. but fully understood and will be seein ya real soon, nonetheless.. Best- T
