Grateful Dead and Grateful Dead inspired music. Woody released his first CD in the summer of 2007,
“On the Spirit Trail” is a CD deadicated to all those that make the yearly journey to the music festivals and gatherings in the spirit of a magical Grateful Dead road trip.
Woody has been going to the shows for many years, always with a guitar in hand to jam with friends and family along the road…
The inspiration for this CD came from many years of road trips but mostly from Woody’s road trip of 2006 through Colorado, up to 10,000 lakes music festival for Phil and Friends, and back through Eugene Oregon for the String Cheese Incident and ending at Horning’s Hideout for the Northwest String Summit.
Woody is a singer/songwriter/storyteller.
He plays guitar and mandolin and plays lots of "storyteller" songs in the tradition of Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, Robert Earl Keen, and Marty Robbins.
Woody started his musical career as a drummer in a Western Swing band called Full Swing Ahead, playing with people like Bob Egan from Canada's premier rock band, Blue Rodeo and Marty Muse who is now playing with the Robert Earl Keen band. He has since also learned many other instruments including guitar, mandolin, and bass guitar and is starting to write many original songs in addition to doing many cover tunes.

When the world seems nothing more than chaotic imbalance, A certain sign of grace is this… From a broken earth flowers come up, Pushing through the dirt.
Hey there Woody... Really glad you are enjoying Ukelele Lady, it's actually a cover done by Jim Kweskin & the Jug Band in 1963 that Ebin used to play when I was growing up. the original was by Gus Kahn / Richard Whiting in 1925. i loved that song as a kid, and just the other night, my grandaughter Lilly came up to me and said something about a ukelele...then the song popped into my head after years and years of not thinking of it. Isn't it great? I love the harmonies and those "pops" at the end. ahhh memories
