Music, Poetry, Writing, Poker, Sports, Friends...long daytime naps, a cuddle here and there. Seeing my daughter smile and a giggle from my wife are two of the most precious things in my world that I look forward to each day. Being a "beach bum" is my favorite thing to do.
Music
Anything 80's, mostly Rock and Roll. Favorite is Collective Soul, with more favorites being Nickelback, Def Leppard, Switchfoot, Kenny Chesney, Lifehouse. Love the 80's...did I say that?
Movies
Hoosiers...when Jimmy says he'll make it, he is serious...and when he hit it, I cried...Can't Buy Me Love, Dead Poets Society, Pirates of the Carribean, Just Friends, Grind, Rounders, Rockstar, That Thing You Do, The Pursuit of Happyness and Up.
Television
I watch a lot of poker, huge fan of Seinfeld, Dancing with the Stars (my wife was a competitive ballroom dancer and instructor), I can't get enough of Gene Simmons Family Jewels yet I can't seem t find it these days on the A&E Channel, the UFC, HGTV and anything showing live concerts on Music in HD...and of course football. Recently I seem to be watching a lot of Hannah Montana, The Wizards of Waverly Place and Veneus and Ferb...gee, I wonder why?
Books
Thinking for a Change by John Maxwell, The Ultimate Gift by Jim Stovall, Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi and the book I am currently writing entitled "How 1% of my time changed 99% of my life". I also like Tipping Point and Think and Grow Rich.
Hello...here it is, the MySpace home of Woody! People always ask me where my name came from and no, I really won't tell you. But let's just say it's not in reference to anything going on below the equator. For those of you who don't know me, you may have heard me...I'm going on my 20th year as the public address voice of the Arizona Interscholastic Association Championships (ie...high schools). You can say I've put some miles in using the pipes, as I have served in years past as the Public Address Announcer for the Phoenix Suns of the NBA, Arizona Rattlers of the AFL, Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, the Arizona Sting of the NLL and Arizona State University Athletics of the NCAA. I used to prowl Jobing.com Arena for the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL as their in-arena host. I am also a national voice talent, specializing in voice overs with many production credits to my past. With more than 20 years under my belt, I can honestly say with a passion that I love my work! I sing a little too still to this day and even once was the lead vocalist for the band Out of Ruin...
During the day...I am a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist for WJ Bradley Mortgage and you can find all you need to know about that by visiting my website at www.jimbarnettconsulting.com. I'm also on Facebook, Plaxo, and LinedIn now too. Of course, feel free to contact me through this site if you prefer as well...I am here to help, and many people need it right now more than ever!
I am married to my wonderful wife Jennifer who is more than I deserve and we have a princess daughter, Alexandra...she is six years old. My family mean more to me than life itself and I live each day with love in my heart. I love spending as much time as possible with them.
Who I'd like to meet:
Cool people who believe in destiny...spend half their time listening to a cool tune that brings them back in time or makes them feel in the moment and add charisma to this world. People who care before they know, and always live to change the world, if even for a moment. Optimistic people are always welcome.
Really?! Wow it is a small world. I played high school softball with Denise and I used to always go to her lessons and competitions because I was incredibly envious of her dancing skills. Haha. I will see her tonight, so I will tell her you said Hi. Hope all is well.
