Here's an RSS feed of the comments from the Woodzie blog. Probably makes almost no sense reading them out of context so that's perfect... fits right in to the whole Woodzie thing!
The WOODZIE is a very small, very cool 24 hour music party in the middle of 32 tree covered acres in the Texas Hill Country. It's not commercial in any way, not associated with any business, religion or ulterior motive; it's just us. Besides the t-shirt sales that help pay for the keg beer, everything is free. Great music, great food, a great time strictly for those relaxed enough to appreciate a fine day out in the country. It's all word of mouth - the bottom line is that if you are reading this you and your friends and family, as long as they are peaceful souls, are welcome. Please bring a covered dish to help feed everybody - this is a singer/songwriter event but also very much a big potluck bar-b-que dinner and nature experience. Having a huge picnic and playing guitars out in the woods is pretty hard to beat. Try to get here by early Saturday afternoon and yes you can drive out on Saturday night but please try to camp over - that's part of what makes this thing unique. Bring your songs, we sing around the campfire all night. If you're lucky enough to be able to make the time to get out here you'll never forget it.
Was so bummed that I missed the Woodzie this year.. fell down the stairs and shattered my nose-multiple surgeries and no time for fun. Please post lots of pics and I will get this on my calendar for next year! Peace
John and Jimmie, thanks! Awesome food, great music, great sound man who doubles as a police negotiator, huge not-so-great hangover, and one hell of a time in the woods! Thank you Leo, for the port-a-potties! You are a behind the scenes saint! Thanks Kim and the gang, for a kick ass breakfast! The bar is set for next year!
Surely wish I were there sitting around the campfire with Kelli King and all you other fine folk! Will have to live vicariously via the stories and pictures and songs about Woodzie until next year..(sigh). Still want to order a tee-shirt if there are any left! JoLynn
Ok, I should have posted this awhile ago, but we will be bringing plenty with us anyway, so stop by the SHFL camp in you want to be doused with super effective and really nice smelling herbal repellent instead of yucky toxic checmical stuff!
My lungs are still full of campfire smoke and Im still full from the breakfast tacos miss Jimmie made at the Micro-Woodzie, and the real deal is damn near upon us! WOO hOO!
HECK YA! Y'all have got it going on! Thanks for the request- fyi- I'll be @ Scenic Cafe in San Antonio this Thursday and in Austin @Symphony Square for MAMAPALOOZA on Sunday. COme Say HI!
