Born in the fall of 2000, Wooly Mammoth is a heavy rock band with an instinct for survival. Founded by Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter, Zac Eller, (a drummer in his formitive years, who played for Washington, D.C. punk/hardcore acts Worlds Collide and Bluetip) the band has undergone many evolutionary changes over the past eight years. What matters now?
Eller, along with mega-supreme bass destroyer, Jason Daniloski (formerly of the much lauded Baltimore, MD. band Meatjack) and drummer/blackout drinker/The Who fanatic, Phil Adler, continue to make dark, heavy, passionate rock 'n' roll with a sense of purpose.
Wooly Mammoth is a group compelled to make heavy music that reflects real life. In sound and in lyrical content. No tales of swords and wizards, no political tirades, no senseless love songs. It is real music from the heart and mind. The street and the basement. The band appreciates rock and roll as a truly valid art form...a penchant for hooks and subtle detail, riffs with weight and groove, smart arrangements, and poetic lyrics based on personal observation and honest emotion that avoid obviousness and sentimentality. As the Washington Post recently stated, "Wooly Mammoth make inter-generational tough peoples rock, drenched in songcraft and melody" or as Malcom Dome of Metal Hammer put it, "At times, this trio are so inspired thier music becomes the center of the universe."

Hey guys, you've been in my friends list for some time, but it's been a while since I've listened. Just popping in to hear a few songs. Keep rocking. Love the guitar tone and am impressed by how you manage to keep clarity with that beefy bottom end.
I think we should do a split 7" and we'll cover "Teenager In A Box" by G.I. and you dudes can do some rocked out NYHC song...but slower...and not hardcore...or not...yo, you get my drift right?
