About me:

A big big thank you to EVERYONE who took part in this year's Worcester Music Festival and who helped to make it happen, who played, who raised money for charity, who sold raffle tickets, who helped out at various events, who put events on for us...the Festival could not have happened without you.

A special thanks to all our sponsors including Cryoservice, Worcester Live, The Worcester Toursim Association, Wyvern FM, Web Worcester (for putting together this lovely website), all our advertisers, all those who donated their time and efforts, it is very much appreciated.

This year we had in excess of 130+ bands, musicians and performers playing in the Faithful City at approximately 30 venues throughout the City Centre and further afield, with the majority of the shows again being free entry. The Festival was opened by The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Andy Roberts, on the evening of Friday 21st August 2009 live on air on BBC Hereford and Worcester.

Last but not least, HUGE thanks go to Chris Bennion of Not Just Sauce. Chris, we salute you and all you do in the name of promoting live music in Worcester and Worcestershire and if it wasn't for you taking your idea for the WMF forward, the Worcester Music Festival would never have happened.

So folks, come and join us next year and let's make Worcester rock again!

................

Who I'd like to meet:

We are looking for bands, musicians and performers to come forward who would like to take part in this exciting 3 day event. We are also looking for anyone who can help us with any aspect of the Festival from displaying a poster or flyer, to helping oversee the events on the days/evenings or any local businesses who may be interested in sponsoring the event.

More info and updates can be found at www.worcestermusicfestival.co.uk

Howdy and thank you very much for supporting my music, you are very kind. Very impressive festival you put on this year by the sounds of it. Let me know if you have a slot for me in 2010 ;)

Just like to say we enjoyed our slot at 'The Old Rec' on Sunday!  Thanks Bob.  Oh, and my/our acoustic duo thing at 'The Horn and Trumpet' (ditto... John)

    All the best

It was DA VINCI's total privelege to play at Huntingdon Hall. We hope we did you proud. Will have dvds of the show soon....we loved it! Thanks again, and here's to 2010!
  • Aug 26 2009 3:08 PM

    Well that was fun!

The Old Rec sorted itself out (eventually). Thanks to BabaJack, Matt Woosey and Marzipan Moon for agreeing to a schedule change at the last minute. Next time Fat Rat are going to get a written agreement with the venues to ensure cock-ups like that don't happen again!

The Art House Cafe was an excellent gig. Thanks to the Five Divas for a brilliant show. Claire Boswell, Tracy Rock, Becky Rose, Anna Rice and Flo Rowland. Flo said she played to loads of grannies at the Art House. There may have been one or two, but the audience was of all ages and there just to hear the Divas and their feedback was to rate. So be proud Divas..... and the Art House Cafe wants to do it again in September. Fat Rat has already lined up the next Five Divas.

Thanks to Blue Radio for the 30 minute spot at The Firefly. Okay, my songs were not what the crowd may have wanted, but it was good to be out in the sun and after the initial "hoots" from the PA had died away and my nerves had settled, I really enjoyed the gig. Shame about the pi$$-heads there and sorry to hear Guy Ford had problems with one ugly mug. I hope Guy got his guitar back in one piece?

The Bedwardine rocked for the penultimate Saturday under the stewardship of Jenny & Richard with the help of Absolute Ataxia, Derailed and Highway 5. This was an awesome gig for the Fringe and the three bands made it rock - not quite on the scale as the Mount Pleasant on 4th July 2008, but nearly! Thanks to the bands for helping us unload and set up the PA. It was ready in record time and the show started 15 minutes early giving everyone the extra time at the end for a massive jam session! Quite memorable and a fine send-off for the Bedwardine. Shame the venue is to be lost to bands.

The "all-dayer" at The Pheasant was a blast! Thanks to the PA Meister for his skills and to the staff of the pub for their co-operation and fine service through the day. The muso's were fantastic; N

Hey to everyone at Worcester Music Festival head quaters :)
I thought I had better drop you a line before the festival- sorry I haven't been in touch a lot so far! It's that time of year where exams had to be sat, many gigs played, and the hard work has started for moving away in September! I'm really looking forward to being involved in the festival again this year...it was an amazing event last year and i'm sure it's just going to get better!
Looking forward to hearing/seeing everyone then! Hope that everything is running smoothly for you guys!
