I belong to a book club, writing group, an Artist's Way group and an investment club. I never thought of myself as a joiner, but have come to realize that if some group helps you reach your goals with added benefit of social connections not to mention accountability, then it's all cool.
Josh Ritter right now, Neko Case, The Avett Brothers are all in the cd player. All timers are Neil Young, The Beatles, Bob Dylan for starters.

Movies
Man On Wire - documentary on the guy who tightrope walked between the two towers of the World Trade Center in 1974. Amazing. Gonzo - doc on Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. OMFG! You have to see The Fall - visually stunning and a scary yet sweet story.
Last year I saw Starting Out In The Evening. Loved it. Frank Langella was amazing. In Bruges was excellent. I think it might be one of those indie films that becomes so popular it goes into wide release like The Full Monty.
Lars & The Real Girl was one of the best movies I saw in 2007 I predict it will cross over from art house to wide release soon. Everyone's talking about it. I know people who have seen it twice.
The Office, 30 Rock, American Experience, Nova, American Masters, Independent Lens, SNL, Family Guy, Pushing Daisies.

I believe in the power of art, music, literature and film to transform lives. I believe in fidelity and love conquering all. I believe in altered states for the occasional inspiration. I believe in the collective unconscious/the force. I believe in gin and tonics with lime. I believe in lying on my back and watching meteor showers. I rely on Moleskine notebooks. I love to find a great idea/inspiration each day. I am a woman for whom casualness runs deep. I believe we all seek passionate experiences. We want to be flung into the stars with a rousing soundtrack playing.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
I may not be much but I'm all I think about - HAR HAR! I live with my two best friends, Hamish, a border collie, and Aggie, a black lab. We live in beautiful Boise, Idaho. I like to read, write, listen to music, paint, camp. I am an INTJ according to the Meyers-Briggs personality type indicator. I'm a 5 The Investigator in the Enneagram. The Meyer-Briggs and The Enneagram correlate to Jung's personality types and to each other. I'm never bored unless I'm forced to pay attention to someone who's boring. On my own, I can't imagine being bored. A cool new idea will make my day. My top 5 strengths according to the Gallup Now Discover Your Strengths tests are: Deliberative, Input, Ideation, Intellection, Learner.
Yep - works for us! And you're welcome to spend the night if you wish. But you know me - I will probably not stay up late. But I'm sure Smoochie has lots of practice doing that!
Christine, you need to submit "Mommy & Me" to some publications. It is very poignant. PS: Thanks for the good wishes for Mama's Day! Doug bought me TWO DOZEN roses, made a nummy dinner, & bought a Marie Callendar chocolate pie - YUM!

I'm really glad I got to see you, too! I agree-not nearly long enough. Yeah, it's hailing here right now; the bottom of my pants are soaked, and I have to go back out there :-S
Yes, I remember your comments about this at the meeting. I just thought you had gotten ill with some bug. Maybe a bug/larvae that feeds on corn? :-) heehee
I enjoyed reading your comment, and wanted to thank you for taking the time to leave it. It always fascinates me what images resonate in different ways with my friends here.
Every day the lighting along Sunset Cliffs changes, and is unique and different. Friday's was very dark, dramatic, and magical. It looked very theatrical. I also love it when shafts of filtered light come down from the the clouds.
Thanks again. I promise to keep at it, always searching for that elusive and perfect image.
With much love,
Joel
P.S. My cousin and his wife recently moved to Nampa, so I guess they are your neighbors.
