Writing, knitting, cooking, hanging out with my pug, going to the movies...all these things I find to be wonderfully grounding. But I also love tearing up the dance floor at the Glaskat, seeing live music at any number of clubs (Siouxsie as well as the Pixies being the most recent), as well as poetry readings or shows of photography at museums or galleries. I prefer not to be stuffed into a tiny category. That's the great thing about having had a past to look back on: it gives you a much more wide-angled view-point. And I have new interests all the time. This spring it was long distance marathon training, this winter I'm thinking maybe yoga. Balance is what I'm striving for.

Amelie, Blade Runner, Almost Famous, To Kill a Mockingbird, LA Confidential, Saved, End of the Century(a documentary about the Ramones), too many to mention. Chances are, if it's old noir--I would like it. If it's nothing but explosions or it's penned by Spielberg, I probably won't.
Television
Mostly CSI (the older generation) on cable reruns. I seem to like anything that has to do with forensics (I'm not even going to bother psychoanalyzing that comment!). But I also like Deadwood, Six Feet Under and the Wire.

About me: OK---get ready to be shocked! I'm 47 years old, been clean and sober for 19 years (more Straight Edge than 12 Step). Yeah, that's right! Survivor of the early SF punk scene, the original "old school" and still maintain my outsider status. Although, these days I'm self-employed and love it. Currently working 3 days a week, and that leaves me plenty of time to play and get out and smell the roses. I'm not a person who needs to be constantly "doing things", although I tend to be more of a planner type than spontaneous. My new pug dog requires me to be responsible, but that's a responsibility that's a joy to manage! Love my dog and my life, just looking for someone who can appreciate and respect my independence, creativity, outrageous sense of humor. Yeah, someone who "gets me". In many respects, I suppose I haven't lead a very "mainstream" kind of life but I make no apologies. Why should I? It certainly hasn't been dull! :)
About my appearance: I'm 5'2, still wearing a size 6, definitely shaped like a girl and entirely comfortable in my own skin. The proud possesser of gorgeous body art (5 large tattoos as well as dainty gold piercings in all the right places). I like to push myself, and I suppose you could say I'm attracted to somewhat intense experiences. Not sure what's next for me...but I'm always curious to try new things...maybe sky-diving?
Who I'd like to meet: A man 38-50, attractive, in-shape and fit (no, I'm not a chubby chaser), who's been around the block a few times but retains a sense of humor as well as an expansive outlook on life. The glass half full view seems about even with my own. I'm interested in old school concepts like good manners, treating your partner with respect, following thru on commitments and monogamy. I like a man who takes care of himself (ie works out, is conscious of grooming and style) and is doing his inner work as well; be that meditation, recovery, therapy. Be at a place in your life where these things matter! Because health and well-being are just as important to me as personal sexiness. Love what you do for a living, but don't be married to it. Have a few ducats to throw around. Be comfortable giving flowers as well as compliments (of course I will reciprocate!). My idea of good-looking runs more to Russell Crowe or Domenic West than Brad Pitt. I like a man who's comfortable travelling all around town (and whose wardrobe reflects that). Interest in the creative arts is essential, even if you're not an artist. Own some leather and a motorcycle? Got tattoos or other body modifications? Even better! But definitely be a dog lover, because mine shares the bed with me and that's not going to change. Extra bonus points to those who listen to music made in this decade!
