MySpace a place for friends

............ Jason Spillman and Michael Naumann started collaborating musically in 1990, introduced to one another by fellow madman and friend Todd Edward Bak. They formed the acoustic, melodic, and at times frenzied Wenonga Daze. This short-lived project was limited to a handful of coffee house shows and college parties, but produced half a dozen memorable songs, some of which were rearranged and recorded by World Echo on their debut CD “Roads and Reasons”. After a brief hiatus, Jason and Mike reconnected to form My Blind Alley. This project lasted for eight years, and included hundreds of shows around Colorado and the surrounding area. Eventually in 2000 they decided it was time to go their seperate ways and work on individual projects. World Echo was formed in January of 2002, when Mike and Jason decided to get together and jam after a two year break. They recorded "Roads and Reasons" in June of 2002. With all instruments being played by either Mike or Jason, this album was recorded with the intention of focusing on writing and recording, rather than playing live shows and dealing with the added pressure of being in a group. While finishing "Roads and Reasons", they also began work on their next album, "Spark". This album was released in the summer of 2003, and again featured Mike and Jason peforming and recording all instruments. In early 2004 World Echo was joined by longtime friend and My Blind Alley Drummer David "Bonis" Hanlen. Bonis stayed on for a brief stint in the band which included some live shows and studio work as well. During this period World Echo released thier most professional recording to date, "Green Grass and Cloudy Days". Bonis left the band for good shortly after Green Grass was released, and Mike and Jason continued to record and play the occasional acoustic show throughout 2005 and 2006. In July of 2006 they decided to put together another full group. Jason placed an ad on a local musician's referal website and found the perfect drummer on the first try; Brian Rempel. After one song, all knew that he would be a perfect fit. Jason called up longtime friend Mike May to play guitar, and World Echo was once again complete. During July and September of 2006 they recorded their latest album, "Waves Invisible". This album featured That's How It Happens which was included on the latest compilation CD from Heyday Records, and features Mike May on trumpet. Mike May decided to leave World Echo to pursue other projects in October of 2007. Continuing on as a three piece, World Echo is currently at work in the studio on their latest album, and continues to perform live at various venues in the Denver area.
