Old travel journals from the 1800's and early 1900's. I have 400 of them so far and no room to put them all *sigh* They range from traveling through Lapland to the Floating Islands of Chad, from Pygmy's carrying ceremonial trumpets through the jungle to a Violinst exploring Hungary and Rumania in the 1920's.

About me: Crazy Accordion player from Melbourne who loves performing pumped up Balkan beats!
Currently in rehearsals with our new band Bizkera which will be playing a mixture of Rumanian, Moldavian, Greek and Bulgarian tunes.
I run the website World Music World and encourage World/Folk musicians to add their band to the site - it's 100% free and only takes a few minutes.
The videos I've uploaded are from our old Canberra based band Katyusha. We only gig once a year now on St Paddies Day (because we can actually earn enough money to cover 2 airfares!!!) Despite being a world music band, we still manage to get Irish gigs *boggle*
Who I'd like to meet: More musicians who like playing European music with a twisted edge - circus Tangos, Rachenitsa's, Polskas (no, not Polkas!!!), Czardas' - anything from Scandinavia or the Balkans.
Our show on Fri 11 December at the East Brunswick Club, with a huge line up featuring Mojo Juju and the Snake Oil Merchants and Mikelangelo and the Tin Star; two of our very favourite acts. Hope to see you there
Be prepared for a night of exciting tunes, outrageous tempos, amazing playing and flashy dressing when The Woohoo Revue appear at Open Studio as part of the Darebin Music Feast on Saturday 5 September. The show starts at 8pm, admission is $10. The band's last Open Studio show was one very raucous night indeed. This should be a very sweaty one.
We have the CDs back now and we are pretty stoked and really excited to be launching it with The Woohoo Revue and Jamie Hay. Not long now (Sat 22nd @ The East Brunswick Club)
Come join the party!

Big gypsy tunes will echo around the centre of Melbourne on Friday 7 August when The Woohoo Revue head up a massive line up of bands and DJs at the Forum Theatre as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival’s Balkan Beatbox Night.
In addition to The Woohoo Revue, the show will also feature such amazing acts as Vardos, BabaGanoush, 13 piece brass band Opa! as well as DJ Gabriele Urban Gypsy (PBS Trans Europa Express).
The combined talents of these performers will make this a rampaging Balkan carnival of oom-pah, gypsy swing and huge brass band sounds.
