ABOUT BUNJII:
The name Bunjii (Bun-gee) implies adrenaline rush, thrill seeker, and risk taker. After listening to their compelling and edgy new self titled CD it is clear why they chose such a name to represent their band. The BUNJII front men consist of a trio, Big Yount, Joey Majors, and Mercury. Hailing from Willingboro, NJ these three friends have come together in harmony to form a new sound that embodies hip-hop and rock music. Their powerful rock influenced beats coupled with undeniably hard-hitting rap lyrics result in musical perfection. This energetic hip-hop rock band brings a fresh new musical perspective that is sorely needed in today's climate. Their new CD comes clean with virtually no samples, which gives the listener a creative and unique sound. It is evident that this group has their fingers on the pulse on many different genres of music. You'll hear a hypnotic mixture of electronic keyboards, drum machines, and live instruments. The Band: Big Yount and Mercury are the innovative producers and Joey Majors fills the role of the clever lyrist and hook master, DJ Jay Ski is Philly's own 100.3 The BEAT mix show DJ joined the band early 2004 as well as Trey (Drummer), John (Bass Guitar), Ray-Ray (Electric Guitar) and SteveO (Lead Electric Guitar) to formed that live sound that gives Bunjii it's leading edge when it comes to their live performance. It's almost spiritual how they strike an unquestionable balance with each other. BUNJII has already created a large buzz for themselves by performing at many local NY/NJ events as well as producing and writing for other established artists such as E-40, Benzino, Lil Flip, Raekwon, City High, Raptile from Germany, Erykah Badu, Claudette, Peedi Crack, Juelz Santana, Chingy and GRUMP. They have also done a movie score for Anthony Anderson's new movie "King Ransom" featuring the group Slum Masters and music for the Morris Chestnut film "The Cave." They also composed the original theme song for P. Diddy's MTV hit show "Making of the Band 3". Much like the sport of bun-gee jumping, this group is risky and sure to satisfy the appetite of any adrenaline junky. They promise to carve their own path in the music industry. Bunjii is destined to take hip-hop and rock music to the next level.
