OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
"It is with deep regret that FIVE today announce that their comeback is no more. The band have decided to call it a day, seven months after reforming. They would like to apologise to all their fans throughout the world for any disappointment caused. Despite considerable broadcast interest in a reunion television series being secured, an album being half-way completed and a world tour in the final stages of confirmation, Ritchie, J, Abz and Scott feel that they cannot continue together.
A huge amount of hard work and effort went into the bands' reformation, but with the state of the music business as it is and with decent record deals being so difficult to procure, the band were really left with no other option than to split.
It is hoped that the new tracks the band have recorded will be available for digital download in the very near future."
* Scott has recorded a message for the fans and it's posted on his website at scott-robinson-co.uk and his myspace at myspace.com/scottjrobinson. J has written a message for the fans. It's on Five's official message board at worldoffive.com/forum under the NEWS and EVENTS topic.
SCOTT recently made a brief appearance on Popworld on 17 March, where he won a game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" against Pop Idol star Gareth Gates. You can check out the video in our video section and we have a few pictures... (click them to enlarge)
YOU CAN LISTEN TO CLIPS FROM TWO NEW FIVE SONGS, THE FIRST SINCE 2001, IN OUR MUSIC PLAYER (top of page) OR AT THE OFFICIAL FIVE WEBSITE AT WORLDOFFIVE.COM. THE FULL SONGS WILL BE FEATURED ON FIVE'S NEW ALBUM, TO BE RELEASED LATER THIS YEAR. ENJOY!
Please leave your comments about the TRACKS. We want to hear from you! Much love, J - Abz - Ritchie - Scott
6 Mar 07 - Scott and Abz recorded a segment for the BBC 3 TV programme, "The Songs You Love To Hate" (title may change), which will air over the Easter holidays. In short the show is about "..an affectionate, light-hearted, countdown of those classic pop hits that stormed the music charts and secured their place in our hearts. The show will take a gentle comedic poke at some of the classics of pop and rock history."
25 Jan 07 - Hey Guys... Happy New Year to you all!
We just wanted to update you that we have finished half the album and it's sounding incredible!
We can't wait for you to hear it in a few months. Keep posting your messages and let us know

Band reform after FIVE years apart and announce amazing writing collaborations and future plans
One of the decades most successful pop bands FIVE today (27 Sept 06) announced that they were reforming after a break of Five years.
At a press conference held today at the Bar Academy Islington in London, the four former members announced they would reform and record a new album. The band line-up now mirrors that of when they split five years ago.
Ritchie, Abz, J and Scott split exactly five years ago today, live on MTV Select. They were at the top of the charts, and riding high in America and around the world at the time, but work pressures drove them to a break. Today they announce that they are reforming and working with some of the top writers in the business. Guy Chambers of Robbie Williams fame and Anders Bagge, whose recent collaborations include Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson and Madonnas latest 'Confessions' album. They have also written a track with hip French underground DJ's, Trak Invaders.
The band also used unique texting service Flirtomatic.com to announce the news to their fans as they broke it to the media. Over 50,000 fans of the band, who had all been sending the boys flirting messages causing them to rise to the top of the Flirtomatic.com charts, received a text with the announcement of the reformation of the band at 11.30am today (27 Sept).
Five were formed in 1997 and went on to sell a staggering 20 million records worldwide. An amazing achievement and one that very few pop acts have surpassed. From 1997 to 2001, the band had 11 UK Top Ten singles and 4 Top Ten albums, including 3 number one singles and a number one album. In total they sold 7 million albums in the UK alone. Internationally, this success was repeated. They even managed to crack the elusive US market with 2 million album sales in the States.
Their success in the recording field was equally matched with their live performances. On their sold-out 2000 Invincible tour, they played live to 2 million people. In 2001, they played to just under half a million people at a sold-out show in Brazil. The band also announced today that they plan to tour next year, once the new record is released.
YOUNG WOMEN IN THE 1000'S FLOOD TO ONLINE AND MOBILE FLIRTING SITE LOOKING FOR POP BAND FIVE
One of Britain's biggest ever pop bands, FIVE, has joined forces with FLIRTOMATIC, one of the UK's most popular interactive mobile and web services. The 20 million record selling band intend to make a major announcement direct to their fans simultaneously online, and at an event at Bar Acadeny Islington in London on Wednesday, 27 September at 11 am. This innovative and unique concept will coincide exactly five years to the day that they split up.
The band quietly put up a profile on Flirtomatic.com on Friday afternoon 22 Sept. Within a few hours they were being sent thousands of messages from the 18-24 year old women that use Flirtomatic. The messages (called Flirtograms) included kisses, winks and throbbing hearts. In fact, they jumped straight to the top of the league table for "most supersnogged" and are already among the most rated men on the site.
" 'We've been blown away by the response so far', explains Mark Curtis of Flirtomatic - on Friday night, we had more than double the number of women we'd normally see online, hunting for FIVE on the website and via their mobiles, finding them, and deluging them with messages. We think they may have sent over 50,000 flirtograms to the boys so far, who are going to have their work out responding to each and every one. We always imagined that Flirtomatic would be a great venue for fans to meet artists and it seems Five are proving it."
"Working with a service like this is great for the band," explains manager Richard Beck. "One of the most important things about Five was always their relationship with their fans and also their desire to do things in a different way. So when Flirtomatic approached us saying they were sure lots of their female users would love to flirt with Five online, it made perfect sense to make our special announcement with Flirtomatic as well as the usual method of a press conference." Beck continued, "Communications have changed drastically over the past 5 years and the boys embrace new technology whole-heartedly. It is great for them to know prior to the event on Wednesday, that thousands of fans already want to jump back on board."
Flirtomatic is available online at www.Flirtomatic.com and thru mobile phones.

The new little Robinson was born at a hospital near Basildon at 4:02 am on 13 September and weighed 6lbs 5oz. Kerry had no problems with the delivery, is now home and doing just fine. Scott says the baby looks a lot like his 5 year old brother Brennan, who is very very happy to be a big "bro" and likes to give him kisses. His full name is KAVAN REESE ROBINSON
Congrats to Scott and his lovely wife Kerry!
BIOGRAPHY/HISTORY -
Five began in early 1997 after 3000 hopefuls in London auditioned for a boy band-style group with "attitude and edge". They were signed to BMG/RCA for a six-album deal. After nearly 5 years of world-wide success including 4 albums, 13 singles, a world tour and nearly 20 million in cd sales, they decided to quit while they were still on the top of the charts... which they did on 27 September 2001, live on MTV UK.
In the following years, J Brown found the peace that had escaped him in the frantic cut-throat world of the music business. He continued to work on his own music, read and travel extensively, and live a quiet, contemplative life away from fame. His close friend Ritchie Neville decided early on to start again as a solo artist, but as he began to seriously pursue his personal goals in life for the first time (which included the martial arts), his desire to re-enter the 'business' alone began to fade. He had a band for awhile and fans heard samples of some of his very promising tunes. Ritchie made a few appearances as an actor, guest host & presenter but kept a fairly low-profile in the media. He continued to write and work on his own music.
Bandmate Scott Robinson married & started a family in 2001 and had to seriously consider their future almost immediately. He worked on several TV programme concepts, made some guest appearances and was a DJ for
a time at Essex FM. In 2004, Scott was cast as one of the leads in the UK musical touring production of "Boogie Nights 2" and stayed with the show throughout its 15 month run. Not surprisingly, Scott has also been writing songs, learning guitar and keeping his love of music & especially singing alive. He and wife Kerry have two little boys, Brennan and Kavan.
Member Abz Breen didn't wait a second to jump back into the mix. He was immediately re-signed by BMG as a solo artist and was back in the spotlight again within a year. After releasing 3 top ten singles and a critically acclaimed album, "Abstract Theory", Abz and BMG parted ways. Abz went back into the studio on his own to further develop his very unique musical style.

Listen guys, theirs gonna be so many people that are wanting to put a whole downer on the whole Five comeback, then split etc... but ya know, the truth is you've achieved a lot of things as a band, that I'm sure each & every one of you (Including Sean) are very proud of... which again, no one can take away from ya's.
You tried to make a comeback, it didn't happen in the way you hoped (You never know about these things anyway until you try), but the thing is, you gave it a shot & you had a crack at it ... if you hadn;t have done this, you'd have never known & always had that "What if" thing floating about, I guess it kinda add's some closure to it all .. or maybe just the whole timing was wrong (timings always important) ... so who knows, the future may or may not have a time for Five, however it's good to see you guys still attending events etc.. together & that it hasn't put a rift between you guys as people... remember you shared a lot of great achievements & memorys together.
Wishing you all the absolute best of luck in whatever paths you choose to take !!!
It is all about being proud of the hard work that you've put in..... and whatever happens after that is anyones guess really.
