Sounds Like

No amount of hyperbole, can do this outfit justice. Possibly the only psychedelic band to evolve out of the UK's late seventies punk scene, they have survived through thick and thin, playing to generations of the London head-set. Aggressve, laid back, ecstatic and horrendous, and always psychedelic to the extreme...

   About TreaTmenT

This is an official TreaTmenT fanpage dedicated to one of the greatest & influential UK Psych bands of the 80's/90's scene, run with kind permission & assistance from Clive & the guys. I'm in touch with Clive, Gordon, Adam & the guys, and they will get to see any messages left.

TreaTmenT played at many great psychedelic venues over the years, such as The Crypt at Deptford, Christian Paris and Clive Jackson's(Dr & The Medics) Alice In Wonderland(including their Magical Mystery Trips) & the legendary Club Dog!
One of their more memorial gigs being a performance at Hendon Rugby Club, in the winter of 1981. Unforgettable for those who were there, legendary for those who weren't!

L-R: Evil C.live, Mr Raaagh!, Boring Ben, Jacket Xerxophon, Gordon Zola, Mutant

They also played a few notable performances at the Stonehenge Free Festivals during the early 1980's, with a guest appearance from Inner City Units/Hawkwinds Nik Turner(which you can hear on the TreaTmenT - Live At Stonehenge self release cassette).

Many thanks to Nimbus The Noodle for support! And Karen for her great help, and assistance in putting me in touch with the guys, greatly appreciated! And the guys themselves for their amazing support & assistance in putting this together!

This is a work in progress, many more goodies relating to the world of TreaTmenT will be coming soon...

The World Of Treatment...

Back in 1986 leaving the swirling, oil blobbed interior of Deptford’s Crypt Club, in some kind of coherent state, was a hard enough task. Treatment were putting the acid dazed audience of assorted freaks through the prism of their lysergic mangle and a kind of panic had set in. Frozen to the spot; Treatment had my beautiful psychedelic experience by the neck, and were attempting to shove it down my throat.

It was an experience I will never forget.

Along with bands such as Ozric Tentacles, The Magic Mushroom Band, Webcore, Zodiac Mind Warp, The Spacemen 3 and Senser, Treatment were at the core of the blooming underground psychedelic / festival / crusty scene in mid ‘80’s London. Thatcher had just destroyed the free festival movement and the rave scene had not yet given birth to the egocentric DJ culture.

It was a wild beautiful time, an era that was mercifully ignored by the music press allowing a whole generation of minds to pass through the doors of perception, unhindered by such earthly thoughts as fashion and street credibility.

And just inside those Doors Treatment were waiting..... To show you the dark side of the psychedelic experience. To warn you that there were uncomfortable things in your mind, that you had to know about. And they were not about to let you forget. So lest you feel too groovy in your paisley shirt purchased from a hip emporium in Camden or Portobello road, they were there to remind you that perhaps the psychedelic experience had nothing to do with pop fashion. And that perhaps your world was not quite as comfortable and smug as you might like it to be, and that maybe that chemical doing strange things to your head might never wear off.....

Richard Allen, Delerium Records

Discography

TreaTmenT have released a total of 5 self release cassettes, 2 self released 7" singles, 1 LP on Number! Records, and an LP/CD on Richard Allens highly regarded Delerium Records(MOST of which are listed below...).
A second album for release on Richard Allen's label was recorded, which was to be entitled, "How Much Is Enough". But even though the project was completed, the demise of Delerium Records in the early 2000's has meant that it is yet to see a release...
They have also made contributions to various compilations over the years, including the outstanding track "Nightmare", on Freakbeat Magazines/Delerium Records excellent, & sought after psychedelic compilation "A Psychedelic Psauna", as well as having fans favourite, "Stamp Out Mutants", included on the 1998 bootleg 10" compilation, "Bust! A Compilation of Original Early Worldwide PUNKROCK" on the German label, Henry Records, in 1998.
