In the 90s Stefanie Naifeh fronted new-cabaret band "The Underthings"http://www.the-underthings.com. Then she shocked everyone by joining the circus. As singing trapeze artist she travelled the world from Asia to South America. She produced and directed her own circus/theater/music show, "Circus Sirius."
Naifeh sings on film scores and has worked on films such as Spiderman, Men in Black, Sleepy Hollow, Mean Girls, What Dreams May Come. She also performed her aerial acts in films What Dreams May Come and Rush Hour 2.
In 2000 after working in Colombia, South America, she created her signature aerial act, La Mariposa -- The Butterfly.
How did a classically trained opera singer, daughter of two psycho-analysts end up wailing into a microphone for artsy fans in The Underthings or singing swinging from a trapeze? Maybe it was "Wings of Desire." Maybe it was Mosha, the beautiful equilibriste. Maybe it was "The Bagatelles." Maybe it was the stories her mother read to her when she was very very young.
