How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor.
Welcome to WPN mates! My name is Colleen and I created this space to help out the people who create the music that gets me thru my days and my nights. By day I work as a music publisher and manage a small record label. If you need advice on distribution, marketing, promotion, copyright etc, ask away and I’ll do my best to help you out. I’m not an attorney so please keep in mind any advice I offer should not be construed as legal consul in any way.
So far the ride's been great. The first WPN CD Compilation featuring 21 bands from 13 different countries is currently in the works... Make sure you subscribe to the blog for updates.
We’ve also teamed up with Dearly Demented Zine who is featuring some great online video interviews. Watch for the first two WPN/Demented interviews to be posted here in the next couple of days from The Bloody Irish Boys and Bitch Slap Barbie! If you’re interested in getting in on this let me know.
So many people have pitched in to help out in so many ways to help make WPN a great place for bands from all over the world to network and find DIY resources. Thank you to everyone for the support. Who I'd like to meet:
Bands you can help each other by swapping gigs out with bands from other states/countries in exchange for the same in return from other bands/promoters. If you don’t have a gig to swap take a few minutes to help bands who want to play in your town by sending them an email with some contact info for clubs/promoters/media.....you get the idea aye?
And hey, if you're a fan and are willing to help out with places to crash, some meals, etc..that's so necessary so thank you for being kind enough to show support for the music you love in this way!
Don’t forget to check out the WPN group (of the same name) for Punk and Oi! bands, and people involved in the music industry around the globe. Promote your music and your zines here. Share your ideas and opinions. The internet is full of opps! For example, we’d love to see some zines swap out pdf’s, print them off and distribute them in other countries, spread the word. There’s some great indie skinzines (non-racist) out there!
