  • General

    Movies, Editing, cinematography, color & color correction, sound mixing, lighting, writing, directing, traveling as much as possible, art, learning, creating, creativity. I also really like walking, hiking, anything involving nature and being active. I try to get to the gym a couple times a week. Oh ya, and I really like taking pictures...     I love movies. I should clarify that... I love good, intelligent, ambitious, creative or unconventional movies. Not any new Hollywood movies, and I can't even watch anything that has Will Ferrell in it. I really dislike the mediocre, rehashed, brainless junk that tends to dominate the theaters, so I usually stick to Netflix (or a good film festival like the MIFF)!

    But, I love independents, comedy, horror, foreign and classic black and white films. I even like campy B-horror movies and documentaries. Some of my favorite movies are: Touch of Evil and The Trial, The Third Man, The Conformist, The Last Waltz, Murder by Death, Repulsion, Seven Samurai and any of the original Zatoichi blind samurai films... anything by Orson Welles, Sam Peckinpah or Martin Scorsese, or Woody Allen. Preston Sturges, hidden film noir gems... Can't forget George Romero, Polanski, or Sam Raimi's early independent horror films like Evil Dead, Army of Darkness... Grindhouse, Kill Bill, Dancer in the Dark with Bjork! This doesn't even scratch the surface.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

  • Television

    Silly stuff like ROCK OF LOVE. Brave Reality shows like TOP CHEF. I really like A&E, History and Discovery Channel. The Family Guy, judge and court shows, home improvement type shows. I really dislike sitcoms.

  • Books

    The Power of Now, The Four Agreements, The Shaolin Way, and Illusions. Eckhard Tolle, Jerry and Esther Hicks, Joe Vitale, Wayne Dyer. Think and Grow Rich, The God Delusion. The Attractor Factor, and Glimpses by Katharine Leis are tremendous, as well. I just bought "The Mind of God"... On the fiction side, I like John Steinbeck, John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany", Erica Jong, Marguerite Duras' The Lover, Tom Robbins, Henry Miller, too many of the classics to list (I have a liberal arts B.A. in English).

  • Heroes

    My parents, Katharine, Nick, Sung, Stephen Campbell, Kari, Dom, Mike, all my closest friends really, and anyone that I have learned from and been influenced by. And of course, Orson Welles & Martin Scorsese! And anyone that does not shop at Walmart (ie The Devil's Store!)
