Artie's commitment to entertaining can never be underestimated,
as he is on the fast track to success as one of the busiest and most
gifted multi-talents in show business. His dedication is a study in perseverance and a testament to his devotion to hard work and
loyalty to his craft ensuring longevity. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s middle-class section of Mount Airy before moving
to the suburb of Chestnut Hill, Artie as a child was introverted
preferring being alone where he'd spend hours reading voraciously
and playing his drum set. Ironically, in school as a hyperactive
attention seeking misfit, he was the class clown who made everyone
laugh by telling stories about his family and friends and his teacher,
who spared five minutes before the end of each class for Artie to
entertain his peers. After the bell, he'd walk home, crawl into bed
and back into his shell where he'd talk to his imaginary friends in
the conservative environment of his household.
The acting bug bit Evans leading him to pursue his desire for acting,
which led him to study alongside Academy Award nominee Frank
Adonis and Freddie Ganno. He furthered his studies by learning The
Meisner Technique under renowned New York City theatre coach Robert Patterson. Later, he gained an opportunity to study in New York City
with critically acclaimed acting coach, Susan Batson. While traveling
back and forth to NYC for acting, Evans entered the music scene with
an internship at Def Jam Records.
Philadelphia's WUSL’s Power 99 is where he met radio personality
Wendy Williams, the woman who would redirect his career path into
radio broadcasting. Artie was asked to accompany Williams to New York
to serve as executive producer of The Wendy Williams Experience on
107.5 WBLS.
A born comedian with a gift of making people laugh, Artie, who credits
his mother as the parent from which he received all his creative talents, never took comedy seriously, ignoring friends who would encourage
him to participate at talent shows and taking for granted the fact that
as a personality on the radio, he entertained millions of listeners on
a daily basis. As with his radio career, Artie did not choose comedy,
comedy chose Artie. He was asked to simply greet an audience weekly
at the world famous Laugh Factory in New York City. “My intention was
to go out, say hello, thanks for coming and keep it moving, never
imagining, my entrance into comedy would be on a scale of this
magnitude. According to another comic, every Artie performance before
the weekly packed comedy club is laced with anxiety: how far will
the sick comic go tonight. He follows the path of Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Eddie Murphy, and Chris Rock as a cultural critic. Artie is known
for his scathing, irreverent, insightful and hilarious commentary on all aspects of the human condition: race relations, sexuality, drug usage,
and spirituality. Attacking these subjects head on with uncompromising
frank humor is an Artie trademark.
From his humble beginnings as an intern at Def Jam Recordings to his position as executive producer of a nationally syndicated radio broadcast, Artie’s , his dedication is a lesson of perseverance through adversity
and that any dream is obtainable if you believe in yourself.
