When Paste caught Warpaint at this year’s CMJ, we were impressed by the band’s unique blend of psychedelia, jagged rhythms and gurgling vocals.
Just a few days later, Rough Trade Records shows that it was equally as impressed by signing the Los Angeles quartet under its wing. “We are all very excited about being involved with such a unique and inspiring group," the label said yesterday in a statement.
Rough Trade Records will oversee the band’s first full-length album, which is set for a 2010 release.
"Thankfully, they can play. Like, really well. After watching a few "getting there" bands last night, it was a thankful relief to take in a group ready for take off right here, right now." --Ryan Dombal
